About the adventure

As a squad of rookie Union pilots fresh out of the academy, you are tasked with undertaking a daring rescue operation when fighting breaks out during tense diplomatic negotiations between two of Cressidium’s largest nations, the Leandric States Alliance and the Vestan Sovereignty. For 500 years, the planet Cressidium has been isolated from the wider galaxy. Turned from a fledgling colony into a refuge for those fleeing from the fall of the Second Committee, the people of Cressidium have struggled and fought to build a home for themselves while casting off the shadow of SecComm’s tyranny. Five centuries later, an encounter with a Union exploratory mission has ignited an interest in rejoining the galactic community, however not everyone on Cressidium sees the Third Committee as potential allies, but rather as usurpers of humanity’s rightful legacy among the stars. Now, the arrival of a Union diplomatic delegation may be the spark that causes simmering tensions between nations to erupt into all-out war. Operation Solstice Rain is one of the official published Lancer adventures. It is a relatively linear campaign designed as an introduction to Lancer, but it should be enjoyable to players of any experience level. It is two missions, each containing 2-3 combats. You'll start at LL0 and level up to LL1 between missions, ending the campaign at LL2. Most of the time will be spent engaging in tactical mech combat, though there are plenty of opportunities for roleplay!

How to prepare

Discord, a functioning mic, and a computer will be required. Foundry VTT does not function well on mobile or on a tablet. I would advise reading the rules ahead of time. I don't expect you to have the rules memorized, especially if you're new, but going through them will definitely help! A player facing version of the Core Book is available for free: You'll need to create a COMP/CON account for character management: You may also want to consider using to create your mech token! Further instructions are provided in the discord!

What I provide

The Lancer module, and Foundry hosted on my own server. Foundry is a VTT which assists with smooth combat through automation, intuitive character tracking, exciting visual and sound effects, and excellent support for battle maps. You don't need to pay for Foundry, I have a GM license, so you'll be able to access it for free. I also have a curated soundtrack, and Voicemod for enhanced immersion!

Gameplay details

In Session 0 we will talk about our characters, set expectations for the game, make sure we are all set up with Foundry, and begin the campaign, time permitting. Consent checklist form is posted in the discord, and additional lines and veils may be established.

How will character creation work

We'll create our group of pilots during session 0. Have a rough idea of what kind of character you would like to play ahead of time, but be prepared to adapt to the group! For your mech, we'll decide as a group which player will fulfill which combat role in session 0, and before session 1, you'll build your mech on COMP/CON. Premades are available upon request, and I'm more than happy to assist with character creation. Further details will be provided in the discord!
