About Brayden
"He’s like Mrs. Dalloway, but with dice." - my favorite review ever Well met, fellow human! Let's sit down and come up with a story, something that we'll be remembering fondly for years afterwards. Let's make up stupid voices and get all emotional over a fake donkey, let's turn up the battle music and feel tension as the enemy moves across the field. Let's create some badass moments. As you may have gathered, I'm a big fan of the collaborative nature of tabletop roleplaying. I believe the game runs best when I don't know what's going to happen next, you don't know what's going to happen next, and we're all just frantic with excitement about the next roll of the dice. We play to find out what happens.

I became a GM because
I enjoy setting up a challenge for my friends to conquer. I get to be all the bad guys, and watch as the heroes triumph against them in the direst of moments. It's always a glorious sight to behold.
How Brayden runs games
I'm into this for the storytelling aspect first and foremost. I love character voices, plot twists, and handing over some control of the narrative to players. Most importantly, I'm always the biggest fan of the player characters - this is their story, after all. I will listen to your interests, mold the story so that it places your characters first and foremost, and enjoy playing out the consequences. That doesn't mean that my games are easy! I can vary the tone based on the system, from the breathless excitement of superpowered fantasy to the grim misery of a dark and gritty setting. I've had players cry at the death of a beloved NPC and curse me for a sudden plot twist that challenged their understandings of a setting. I want to make some badass memories. As for gameplay, I have my fun when it comes to more tactically-oriented systems. There's artistry in creating mechanically interesting and complex engagements - I'm a less is more kind of guy. Rather than 4-6 fights in a session, expect 1 or 2 . . . but those fights will be hefty, dramatic, and mean something to the overall game.
