I'm new to Lancer but after just three sessions I'm in love with it. The character development can be divorced from your mech build style and setup. The battles are crunchy enough to be interesting without being overwhelming. As a player I think it's amazing. I'm already waiting for my copy of the physical corebook to try and run it myself in the near future.
Games with Jordi are super fun - it's also a really great way to revitalise learning Spanish for me. I had many many years ago reached an advanced level but then didn't use it for 10+ years and it faded away. He's a very supportive GM and I always look forward to the games. I recommend him!
Tyler's a chill guy, helped me set up in a super fast way to try out a new-for-me system. Unfortunately I didn't gel to the system itself but Tyler clearly puts out a lot of effort with cool maps, music, and does a good job of gently urging players in the moments to think about their characters from a narrative perspective :)
Rob is incredible at setting a scene as well as setting a world. The worldbuilding he has done in this game is amazing, and he'll always let you know whether your character specifically would have some idea about a political or historical aspect of the world that others might not, helping build up the picture of the world of Ode even more. He doesn't shy away from dealing (safely) with heavier topics which has made for some top tier roleplaying moments with our party. Rob is great at allowing player creativity, and the character I have in his campaign I think will have some truly scintillating moments ahead, as well as the other brilliant players in this group!
