About the adventure

The artificer may be long-dead, but her machines live on in her laboratory! In a land devastated by a cataclysmic magical event, a daring band of heroes have resolved to brave the danger and retrieve the lost technological secrets within! Many before you have tried—folk tales and legends abound about the remains of this technologist's weird workshop, and the happy ones end with everyone high-tailing it back home. But times are desperate, and people are counting on you—it's time to enter the Lab of the Artificer.

What I provide

The magic ✨ I also have the player resources books on D&D Beyond for character creation using official content, as well as a Google Drive folder full of official references and curated third-party publications for the homebrew aficionados.

Gameplay details

This game will put players right into the action from the start—no Awkward Inn, no antagonistic contract negotiation, no fuss. You're on a mission, and it's time to do it! Any themes that would typically need a content warning are unlikely to arise, but we'll still run through lines and veils beforehand to just make sure everyone feels safe during play. Combat will likely take up the bulk of the session, although there will be bits of other types of gameplay in between to break up the rhythm.

Content warnings

    (none)

Safety tools used
  • Breaks
  • Lines and Veils
  • Open Door
  • X, N, and O Cards
How will character creation work

Characters will be level 4, and completed character sheets should be brought to the game. In-depth backstories are not required for this particular game—a set of traits, ideals, bonds, and flaws ought to be enough, as long as your character is willing to work together with others.

Players can expect

  • Combat/Tactics: High
  • Roleplay: Medium
  • Puzzles: Low
  • Experience Level: Open to all
