About me

I've been playing various forms of role-playing games formally for more than 2 decades, including online, written, table top, and more, while informally, I've been playing and performing roles all my life. I love creating and sharing stories, all the more so when the players truly become part of the world by surprising me with their choices. Professionally, I have a background in history and am a recently-recovering educator, and I bring both to the gaming table by helping players learn the game and developing unique and non-standard worlds and stories while using a teach-as-we-go method for new players.

Character creation

Creating your character

Players will be able to create characters using the core books only: - 2024 Player's Handbook - Xanathar's Guide to Everything - Tasha's Cauldron of Everything - Mordainkainan's Monsters of the Multiverse Players can start developing and building their concepts right away, but we will come together during Session 0 to discuss how the team came together and finalize the character concepts. Players are urged to remember the focus of the campaign is on heists, so skills, problem-solving, and versatile characters will be most useful, though players are also encouraged to use different classes from each other to maintain a well-balanced team.

The current party

Our party has been investigating the strange occurrences of the Hidden Hands while making a name for themselves as glorious thieves who get the job done...by messing around and finding out what happens. Out of character, our team is a fun group of friends, while in character, we have a team that picks at each other while progressing through the story.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

All players must have a microphone and a relatively distraction-free environment. Ideally, all players also have a working web cam and are willing to use it. Games will be played in Roll20, with character sheets and die rolling taking place on D&D Beyond. Players should have a Roll20 and D&D Beyond accounts prior to game start time.

What Delphi brings to the table

I provide everything else you will need to have an amazing gaming experience!

Homebrew rules

🍺 Crunchy Crits - Always get maximum base damage for a critical hit plus a single die roll (starts at level 3) 🍺 Agency while downed - If downed, players may crawl up to 5 feet (if not restrained), call out to allies, and roleplay 🍺 5/10 Diagonal Movement - The first diagonal move on a square grid is 5 feet, the second is 10 🍺 Dazed not Stunned - Instead of being stunned, which is never fun, a creature is now Dazed, which allows them to use 1 of a movement, action, or bonus action on their turn. Additionally, we may use custom mechanics for certain NPCs, monsters, and scenes.

Safety

How Delphi creates a safe table

This game includes themes common to heist settings, and is generally considered a PG-13 game, with a caution for live play. Players can expect a fair and moderately paced adventure where they can explore a modified version of the Keys from the Golden Vault module leading into a modified Vecna: Eve of Ruin module, including additional missions, resources, and campaign-unifying plots. I tend to lean a little heavier on roleplay, and ask that players get into their characters and have some fun with them. We are currently at level 6, and have an outline of a plan to reach level 20. The campaign is open to all. I encourage those who may have little experience but want to try a longer campaign to join us.
