About the adventure
Explore the Darkened Palace with Caution and Cleverness Free the Kingdom from Magical Stasis * The survivors of the royal wedding pick through the ruins of the once-bright palace. The townsfolk sleep encased in stone, statues frozen in merriment now covered in dust and mild. There palace servants slipped among the festive grounds now enemies and monsters patrol. Goblins, giant spiders, and undead all seek the lives of the survivors, but the survivors discover new powers and hidden secrets which may help them survive and solve the mystery of what has befallen the lands! Game Style? The party is trapped in a cursed palace, navigating, exploring, and choosing their battle very wisely as they unravel the plot of an evil arch-fey and its eon-long plotting to invade the material world. Combat will tend to be deadly. Encounters will not be balanced, forcing the players to be cautious and selective about entering combat and exploring the castle as they may easily run into foes they cannot defeat…although there are plenty of equal challenges for the untested characters! Tactical thinking will be important, and the GM will provide help with understanding the rules, making characters, navigating combat, and navigating the adventure site. Skill proficiency will play a large role. Survival, History, Religion, Arcana, and Insight are quite useful. Make successful checks to gain deeper insight into the nature of the curse which binds the palace! Exploration and success in combat will yield precious loot and equipment as well as clues to the mystery that you work to unravel as you survive the broken palace. Restore Haven to its lost glory and there may be a noble title, lands, or an appointment in the court! What Happened? Moments ago you were enjoying the celebration of a royal wedding, then the the world was nothing but a deep red glare that lasted an eternity. When the red gloom passed things had changed. The sky is a glaring crimson dome trapping the castle. Where townsfolk walked and played before there are only statues, frozen in motion. The air is still, musty. Nearby you see one of the statues slump and start, another festival-goer coming to life, then another, and another. You share a look of fear, confusion until the darkened palace draws your eyes. You see figures moving in the high palace watchtower, dim light trickling from windows above. With no other direction to go you gather what tools and equipment you can from the nearby buildings and set out to enter the ruined palace, questions tumbling in your mind like dice in a cup. Special Discounts: POC, Fems, ESL folks and LGBT Inquire, please!
Join us for the first module in a long-term, old-school module-based campaign, where the world and lore will be generated by the choices the players make! The party has recently awoken from a magical stasis, one which fell over the city hours before the royal wedding. Now the party stalks through the crumbling ruins of the once-bright halls, crawling through small tunnels and secret doors while they avoid a band of goblins who hunt the PCs. Party is 4th level Looking for 2 more to join us Weekly campaign Paid game If you like the sound of this feel free to message me with questions or to schedule observing a session just DM with me! Gameplay details
-Content Warning: Violence, creation of suspense, descriptive combat, NPC and potential character death. -Hard NOs: Torture, sexual abuse, psychological manipulation, etc. I do NOT include these in my games. If any players attempts to force this they will be kicked. -Romantic scenarios, as well as "bad stuff" may happen "off-screen", but may only be hinted at in the vaguest of terms (that way players are each free to use their imagination if they choose), but I do not GM scenarios like this. -I am familiar with the safety toolkit, and make all of them available in-game. Please be respectful of these tools and do not abuse them for game advantage. They are here to help players, not characters. Tools available: X/N/O cards are available for players- O=player ok to continue, N=players is becoming uncomfortable with content/events, X=players needs to stop or withdraw for a moment and reassess their experience. Script change-players can request Stop, FF, RW events if they are becoming triggered or feeling unsafe. The group can take Breaks as needed Open Door- If a player has to leave the session or campaign for reasons of emotional or psychological safety that player will be allowed to return as they desire. -I am *very* open to aftercare, debriefing, session wrap with highlights and stars and wishes! -Character creation/session 0 will give players an opportunity to mention specific triggers and needed boundaries, and each player will be expected to respect the boundaries set. Violators will be kicked.

How will character creation work
CHARACTER-BUILDING GUIDELINES Try to make an inexperienced (adventuring-wise) person from a fantasy city, not a fearless and seasoned combatant. Imagine job, family, beliefs, personality, etc. No royalty or rich relatives are available to help, at least not directly. If you are related to royalty it is distant, only close enough to obligate your character but not to aid them. If they have rich family then the character is either estranged, in hiding, or shunned. Your character is likely from the ranks of low-level peasants like laborers, rope-peddlers and fortune tellers, pub bouncers and baker's assistants, street brawlers, brewers, farmers, and blacksmith apprentices. Think of a character with heroic *prospects* and *potential*, but no heroic *accomplishment* or *experience*. Remember, your characters aren't adventurers...*yet*. Race, class, sublcass, backgrounds are open to the main sourcebooks. If you have a homebrew or something from a 3rd party I would love to discuss it! Flight and teleportation abilities will be limited.
