    About the adventure

Seattle is a lush, evergreen city lying between Puget Sound and Lake Washington with abundant parklands, and surrounded by towering mountains and forests. Widely known for its overcast weather, when the sun does come out, the spectacular beauty of the waterways, forests and distant mountains combine to make Seattle one of the most stunning cities in the US. There is a small curiosity shop that seems to be the center of chaos for poor unfortunate shopkeeper Toni. Come join in on the things that go bump in the night and need to be dealt with, after all, all these monsters can’t possibly just exist in the world for the punishment of one individual.

    Additional Details

    How to prepare

A player will need a mic at least, webcam is not required, discord downloaded, their own dice if they wish or to use my dice roller on discord. A player does not have to have a thorough understanding of the rules, but needs to have a bit of imagination and willing to learn the rules as we play. A player does need to have a character sheet for themselves, but doesn't need to resubmit one when leveling up.

    What I provide

I will bring the rule book, pre-generated characters to choose from, a discord to interact in, and a plot to hunt down.

    Gameplay details

If you have two standard dice you can play this game. A typical session is broken up into two main sections investigation and resolving. A player depending on their class will have their own skills to assist in the investigation portion of the game, whether that is the Mundane who stumbles into clues, or the Professional who calls contacts to give them information. A player will say what they want to do and what Move they wish to use. This is nearly the same for resolving the issue, which depending on the Monster of the Week, may involve killing it, doing an elaborate ritual, or just trying to stop people’s belief in it. The mechanics are very simple and encompassing that the results of the roll dictate more of what happens after the desired Move is used. The ideal of these game play sessions are to teach new players about the game, and should be limited to five sessions. I am willing to go along with character creation, though there are pre-gens of all but two playbooks available. Safety Tools: I use two major safety tools, X card and lines and veils, with weekly check ins. The X card can be used at any point if a participant is uncomfortable with the content happening in-game. When the X card is used by tapping the card or typing an “X” in the chat, the group can change, rewind, or skip the content. Lines: are subjects that are never brought up or into the game, any player may add to the list. The current lines are: Sexual Assault of any kind. Veils: are subjects that are alluded to but never directly brought up or into the game, any player may add to this list as well. The current veils are: domestic abuse. Weekly Check Ins: is where I ask the group before each game if there is any Lines or Veils that the players would like to add to the list whether on a permanent basis or temporarily considering life happens and we are not fully active in each other's life.

    How will character creation work

All characters will begin at zero experience, I will have pre-generated characters if you would like to play one, though I will be available to help make characters with you if you wish to make one before the game begins. I recommend making a character before game and have me check over it.
