About the adventure

New Adventurers Wanted! New to Dungeons and Dragons? Don't know where to begin? Fear not! As your Dungeon Master, I will be your guide into incredible worlds and stories. We'll work together to create a unique adventure that's impacted by the choices you make as players. I will help you create your characters and build an exciting world for you to explore, but as you go on adventurers, make alliances, fight enemies, and search for the Lost City of Pyre your decisions will directly change the game. As for our story, it begins by following the footsteps of adventurers who set out 10 years earlier, including someone close to the party. This expedition never returned, so now we embark seeking to find not only the Lost City of Pyre but to find out what happened to our ill-fated forerunners. The journey will be difficult. We will travel through swamps and frozen mountaintops in our quest, but in the end who knows what secrets we'll uncover...

About me

Come in out of the rain and warm yourself by the fire! My name is Caleb. Here at Fireside Sagas you can enjoy both relaxed atmospheres and sweeping, character-driven stories. I've run many campaigns, mostly homebrew but some modules. I strive to create a safe place where all feel welcome, at-ease, and engaged. I run Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition and Vaesen: Nordic Horror Roleplaying

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be made during the first session, stats will be rolled 4d6 drop the lowest with the opportunity to instead use the Standard Array. Characters will preferably be generated on D&D Beyond to allow for easy management, but I will allow pen and paper as well. Anything published by Wizards or the coast is fair game except the Hadozee race as I find them problematic. Starting at level one!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need a webcam and mic. Webcam is welcome but not required; I find they help engagement. Discord account needed for video chat. D&D Beyond account highly suggested, but a physical character sheet is acceptable. No rules to read beforehand. I will help explain anything as we go!

What Fireside Sagas brings to the table

D&D Beyond Content: Basic Rules Player's Handbook Dungeon Master's Guide Xanathar's Guide to Everything Tasha's Cauldron of Everything Volo's Guide to Monsters Others, feel free to message. Rule guidance: I try to play Rules as Written, but can often be persuaded to play Rules as Intended. The rule of cool is great! Just don't rely on it completely. If there is an action that shows creativity that will be rewarded! Just don't expect to break rules all the time to do so.

Safety

How Fireside Sagas creates a safe table

I care deeply for the health and safety of my players. During our session zero we will discuss any hard and soft boundaries you will need to have an enjoyable time. I will send a document over that will allow you to rank your priorities in the game and to mark down any possible triggers we should avoid.
