About the adventure
Walking dead threaten the town. You've followed them to their source - a cursed burial ground with terror and treasure within. Brave the barrows, go as deep as you can for the greatest rewards, but be out by nightfall or you will surely perish. Will you save the town? Will you find the source of this plague of undead? Come brave the depths of the Barrowmaze! (This campaign is based on the MegaDungeon Module Barrowmaze by award winning author Greg Gillespie and adapted for 3.5)

The best way to explain Alex's GM skills is to explain it's impact upon myself. As his son, he has always tried his hardest to introduce me to the hobbies he loves like board games and RPGs. As an avid GM and writer myself, I can say it has worked wonders. Whenever Alex wants to experiment with a new type of game or chat about GMing, he comes to me, and I can say with likely more evidence than anyone else that Alex is an incredible GM. He creates awesome and powerful stories, incredible combats, balanced gameplay, great roleplay moments and allows massive PC impact, but more than anything else Alex is a teacher. He always does what works best for the party and is excellent at teaching new players. His games will always be safe and healthy, and Alex has a love for the game that inspired him to teach his kids and may many others with a passion hard to describe, a passion for this game that I feel as well. To me, RPGs are less about a fun hobby and downtime and more an outlet for creativity, mental exercise, and teamwork. Alex inspired all these things in me, and I am very pleased to see him continue to GM.

I have gamed with Alex, both as my GM and as a player, since 2003. He creates great adventures and campaigns. He knows the rules but doesn't limit the game to RAW, and adapts and adjusts to the needs/wants of the players. I would gladly have him back at my table whenever he is able.

How to prepare
A quality internet connection is vital. Roll20 and Discord accounts will be needed. Players should have an external mic. A quiet space with few distractions makes the experience better for everyone. Webcams are preferred but not required. A second monitor can make a significant difference in the quality of the play experience, but is not necessary. A knowledge of D&D 3.5 rules is beneficial, but not necessary.

An extensive, detailed Mega Dungeon prepared for your exploration. An environment that will react and change based on the player's actions. A story that will grow out of the choices the adventurer's make. Access to all necessary rulebooks provided. Pre-made characters for quick play access and the option of creating your own.

How will character creation work
All characters must be of Good alignment. (There are in-story reasons for this, but also because we want to have an open and welcoming game, so all players will be working together. No thieves backstabbing the party or any player vs player combat.) Pre-made characters are provided. Additional details of how to make your own characters if you wish will be shared on our Discord server. The current crop of adventurers in the town of Helix are level 2. Your first character is to be made using the rules in the core rulebooks. As the game progresses additional character options will be opened up through experiences in play.
