Peaks of Peril

Peaks of Peril

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

In the foothills of the great Dragonspire Mountains, remote towns are being raided by a normally peaceable group of orcs. The attacks have been brutal, but rumor has it that those who were taken captive are in for a worse fate. The local authorities are overwhelmed and have put out a call for brave adventurers to put an end to the Orcs' reign of terror. Will the party answer the call and save the towns from destruction, or will they fall to the orcs' brutal tactics? Explore the rugged and mysterious land of Ebrule, find out what got the Orcs so riled up, and put a stop to it before more innocent people are harmed.

Reese was awesome as a DM. He made us all feel comfortable, had great voices for NPCs, and really us be creative. His enemies and puzzles were challenging without being cruel, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time!

I had the pleasure of playing in Reese's maritime based D&D one shot, and it was a fantastic experience! Reese's attention to detail in creating a rich and immersive nautical world was truly impressive. Everything felt authentic and well-crafted. Reese's storytelling abilities were also very good based on it being a one shot. He wove together a compelling narrative that kept me engaged from start to finish. Each player had a chance to shine and make meaningful contributions to the adventure. Overall, I would highly recommend Reese as a DM. The compelling story shines through in this excellent one-shot. I hope to have the opportunity to play in another of Reese's games soon!

Reese is a great DM. His characters and voices are awesome and the one-shot story was great and very engaging. He is also very helpful if you're new to the game or playing a new character. I would highly recommend him as a DM for new and veteran players.

Reese was great at describing the world we were in, helping me imagine it pretty clearly in my head. The creepy parts actually gave me goose bumps. He played an NPC that was on our "team", while also managing the world and all our enemies. I had never played a rogue before. He helped me use my character to its full potential (thank you!). I will definitely be watching out for more games he runs.

Reece had a fun spooky D&D one-shot set in his own world that had good atmosphere and descriptions. He used theatre of the mind and had a creative story. I'd play with him again!

Additional details

How to prepare

All you will need is a mic, the ability to view your character sheet, access to discord, and your own dice. I will be posting pictures of a physical battle map on the discord chat. Be prepared to commit to a regular, weekly Tuesday night session. This campaign is fine for beginners to experienced players, but probably not ideal for someone who has never played before. It is expected that you know how to play a level three character with some degree of confidence. If you have never played before and would like to join, please reach out to me!

What I provide

I bring a discord server, battle maps and cutout minis, as well as 20+ years of DnD experience.

Gameplay details

In the young kingdom of Caspia, the distant Dragonspine Mountains remaining foreboding and unknown. To "go over the mountains" means to do what someone has never done before. It also means to go a little crazy. In this campaign players can expect to do a bit of both! In the world of Ebrule Orcs are no more violent than any other race and have existed in relative peace with the Dwarven and Human kingdoms for decades. However, something has gotten them riled up and they are starting to attack the remote towns of the Dragonspine foothills. Your job is to find out why and put a stop to it. Expect a fair amount of tactical combat, exploration, mountainous terrain, isolation, wilderness travel and survival, and unraveling an ancient mystery. In our session zero (which will be free, every subsequent session will be $15.00) we will discuss our expectations for the campaign and the characters together, and what our lines and veils are. I anticipate EVERY OTHER Tuesday Night from 6:30 to 9:30 PM Eastern time, although going a little over is fine. DM me with any questions, and I hope to see you in the game!

How will character creation work

We still start at level three. Please use the point buy system. You can come with a progenerated character or use session zero to talk with the other players and determine what you want to play from there. Once you generate a character please send it to me via Discord. If you need help creating a character please DM me. I recommend you have it saved as a pdf or some other format in case DnD Beyond crashes.
