PF2e Beginner Box: Menace Under Otari

About the adventure

The small seaside town of Otari is known for its fresh fish and skilled sailors, but above all, it’s a big logging town, providing valuable wood to the nearby metropolis of Absalom. But for you, Otari is home. You grew up playing on the docks, getting lost in the nearby woods, and hearing the fantastical stories of travelers from faraway lands, tales of terrifying dragons and virtuous knights. Such adventure always seemed so distant—until today! Word has begun to spread around Otari that there’s a problem down at the Otari Fishery. Some are saying that some sort of beast is lurking in the basement, feeding on the stores of salted fish. Folks are worried that whatever is eating the fish might get hungry enough to eat the fishers next! You’ve received a letter from Tamily Tanderveil, the owner of the Fishery. Inside is a desperate plea for help. With the town guard busy protecting the loggers, she needs a few brave souls to venture down into the basement of her warehouse and put an end to the beast that’s feasting on her fish! Do you have the courage to face the menace under Otari?

How to prepare

At a minimum, please have a microphone with Discord and a stable internet connection. My players typically use webcams to enhance their social relationships during game time, but no one is obligated to use them if they don't want to. Players must create a free account on Forge to sign in to my Foundry VTT server (using the link I provide). I will transfer all character sheets to Foundry and create simple tokens for each player before the game. If you want to use custom art for your token, please provide it in the associated Discord server or private message me with the file. This game will be a minimum of two sessions.

What I provide

A Discord server for voice communication and a licensed Foundry server will be provided for gameplay. All dice rolls will be done within Foundry.

Gameplay details

A copy of Monte Cook's RPG Consent Checklist will be available upon player request. Additionally, players may step away from the table at any time in addition to our short break at approximately the halfway mark.

How will character creation work

Players will create a new level one (1) character for this adventure. I will provide players with blank character sheets and a players' guide at least 12 hours before the game starts for character creation and a Discord server invite. Additionally, I will send an invite link to the game on Forge (Foundry VTT).

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
