About me

3 years ago I joined the Start Playing community, 100+ positive reviews later I feel I've found the place where I belong. Getting the opportunity to pursue my passion professionally has been the opportunity of a lifetime. Today I run a full weekly schedule of games for a variety of different players. I do corporate events, summer camps, and online games all of which are entirely private. I would love to have you at the table, let's tell a great story together.

GM Style

I tell stories first. This means memorable NPCs, lots of different voices, and constant decisions that will have big impact on how the story unfolds. While rules are important I realize that sometimes they stand in the way a good story. At my table all skill levels are welcome. It doesn't matter how well you understand the rules, only that you make the choices that tell a story that is your own. If you like to play these games to create a memorable and exciting story, look no further. I run all of games Theatre of the Mind style, with no use of a VTT. Grids exist only to tell us what we cannot do, and that is not what these experiences are about. Also it allows my players to do epic stuff every session!

I've been playing D&D for over 40 years and this was, without a doubt, the best session I’ve ever experienced. truly! The storytelling was masterfully woven around the card draws, creating a dynamic and immersive noir narrative. The music choices perfectly set the tone, and the detective-style monologues at the beginning and end were absolute highlights. Every element—from pacing to atmosphere—was spot-on. Highly recommended!

Dudley is great at story telling. I joined the Streets of Sharn and as a beginner, he was friendly and help explain anything I didn't quiet understand. Any time I had questions about certain skills, he was more than happy to explain it and help move it along with the story flow. I have to say I really thought the explanation of things at the end of a session were really great details on how the story had unfold, especially in the Streets of Sharn one shots.

Dudley is one of my top favorites. Period. He is a master at storytelling and placing you right in the middle of the scene where you can visualize and sense each description with crystal-clear detail, down to the sounds and smells. He orchestrates intricate and compelling adventures that leave me on the edge of my seat every session and improvises effortlessly. His NPCs are always superbly voiced with engaging dialogue, and his knowledge of the rules makes for smooth pacing both in and out of combat. In short, do NOT hesitate to play at Dudley's table. You are guaranteed a first-class experience.

Just finished playing a Streets of Sigil one-shot. It was tons of fun. It didn't use a Roll20 map or anything like that but it didn't need to. I really enjoyed the GM's "Theater of the Mind" style.

Dudley is a great story teller. I was uncertain about doing theater of the mind style DnD, having on played with visuals and measurement. Was definitely surprised at how engaging and vivid he made the scenarios. His use of the Deck of Many Things to divinely cobble a cohesive story out of the cards we pull at the session start was intriguing and impressive. At the end he explained how each card influenced the adventure we took. I would definitely recommend and hope to play with Dudley again.
