How to prepare

Gaming sessions will be run over discord, so having an account is a must-have. Otherwise, please have a working mic and internet connection. A camera is optional. I will personally be using one and have found that face-cams really help pull players into the game.

Gameplay details

Call of Cthulhu is a horror TTRPG game where physically and mentally harmful consequences for failed roles are used to torment PCs and NPCs, or to put them into stressful and tense situations. Because the genre of this game is horror, this is the appeal of the game (just like in a horror movie or in a horror video game). That being said, my goal as the game master is NOT to make anyone uncomfortable outside the game, which is why I spend a good amount of time in session 0 going over a consent list to make sure not I, but everyone at the table, is aware of where the lines are. The content warnings listed are ones present in the scenario, but during the session 0, they will be up for discussion as well. Let's indulge in all the delicious scares and insanity-inducing creatures from Lovecraftian Lore in a way that's fun for everyone, and won't leave any player feeling upset after the game ended. The entirety of the game will be played over discord call, and we will be rolling digital dice.

How will character creation work

Character creation happens in session 0, using either pregens (recommended for new players) or the quickfire method. We'll discuss backstory and character details during this process as well, as well as how to read your character sheet if you're new.
