About the adventure

HAIL AND WELL MET! Come, sit around the virtual table and enjoy Dungeons and Dragons, the world’s greatest table-top role-playing game. Exactly fifty years ago, The Companion arrived in the city of Elturel, erupting in noonday glory and banishing the darkness called forth by corrupt powers. Ever since that blessed day, it has hung over the city like a second sun, it's holy light protecting Eltruel and her people. But even as peals of joy ring out from every temple, you can't help but notice The Companion's light growing slightly dimmer. Surely it's only your imagination, and yet... The Fall of Elturel is for intermediate levels of play, featuring a stand-alone homebrew adventure based upon events described in the published module Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus. Prepare yourself for a white-knuckled dash as you try to escape from a crumbling city that has been dragged down to Hell itself! In my games, story is king. I strive to create an immersive atmosphere with memorable NPCs, descriptive scene-setting, and voice-acting. I look forward to working with you to elevate our game from simple dice-rolling and statistics to a shared tale of epic adventure! Your Table Awaits…

Gameplay details

This game contains the following theme and uses the X, N, and O cards to gauge comfort-level with potentially disturbing or controversial elements. Drug/alcohol use Graphic death descriptions Disease, Famine, Torture, Death of innocents Good role-playing can lead to vulnerability that may become uncomfortable for some. I maintain a very open policy about what is and is not acceptable in my games. We will establish firm boundaries before we begin, and we will be using the X, N, O card format ( https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/114jRmhzBpdqkAlhmveis0nmW73qkAZCj )during the game. I want our session to be exciting and memorable, but real psychological trauma will be avoided at all costs. Generally, I try to create a cinematic atmosphere, describing combats with as much color as I can (within established comfort-levels). This game will maintain a PG-13 rating for the most part, verging into R territory for combats. Any consensual scenes of intimacy tastefully "fade to black".
