It’s time for a new round of the biggest headlines in TTRPGs! In this week’s stories: Games Workshop cancels the Necromunda TTRPG, Chaosium says a strong no to AI, and Dungeons & Dragons announces a second monster collection made by kids.
Necromunda TTRPG Cancelled

The upcoming Warhammer Necromunda Tabletop RPG is no more, as per Games Workshop. In a recent blog post about Necromunda in 2027, Games Workshop explains that the Necromunda RPG is no longer being pursued in favor of “providing even more great minis for the core game.” And… that’s the story. There wasn’t much known about the project, so not much was lost it seems. Fans will have to stick with Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.
Chaosium On AI-Generated Community Content: "Just Don't Use AI"
Chaosium, makers of Call of Cthulhu, has taken a firm stance against AI in its new policy for the community content marketplace. The publisher has a creator arrangement with DriveThruRPG where users can sell their own work based in Chaosium’s games. However, Chaosium writes that it recently removed 40+ works from DriveThruRPG due to their use of AI to generate text. In a message to the public, Chaosium explained the process it uses to detect AI and reinforced its community content guidelines. The bullet point list ends with “Just Don’t Use AI.”
Monsters Made By Literal Children Will Be In An Official DnD Product (Again)

Prepare to add another round of freakish anomalies made by kids to your DnD game. D&D Beyond is set to release Misplaced Monsters: Volume Two, a collection of creatures based on art made by children. The collection shows the original art, a professional recreation, and a stat block for 8 monsters plus 1 magic item. It’s digital only, costs $7.95, and comes out on December 2. 100% of that price goes to the Extra Life charity, which benefits children’s mental and behavioral health programs.
Looks like a fun monster collection! It’s nice to have something joyful and handmade to play with as the industry battles AI. Until next time, may your dice be kind!
Sergio Solórzano is the best Dungeon Master in the USA (according to an official D&D competition, anyway). He loves minis and terrain but also goes all-in on improv!
