About the adventure

⭐⭐⭐ In this Fey/Human realm setting, you'll undertake a series of 1-shot homebrew modules to find rare items, kill powerful foes or root out trickery in a pick-up and put-down framework that's easy for any player with a base understanding of 5e to jump right into. While there is an overarching narrative and players can bring items they've found from one Mad Mel session to the next, each encounter will get wrapped up in a nice bow at the end of each 3-4 hour session. One week, you might be infiltrating an underground cult to break up a demonic marriage, and the next you could be looking in-town for a smuggler who skipped out on his debts to the hag. And the best part? You can accomplish your mission however you want. If you've ever wanted to be an evil character or truly Spock-like, this is your chance. There's no right way, so long as you get the job done and manage to work together somehow.

About me

I've been playing D&D since the 2000s and started DMing a few years ago when my regular DM took a break. Now I run weekly modularised one-shots and mini-campaigns. I'm not a rules lawyer and I love to reward my players for creativity and comedy! While sometimes the themes can get dark, my goal is always to create realistic-feeling worlds with real stakes and shades of grey. I'm narrative-forward and my players say I'm great at creativity, voices and storytelling. Visit my profile for reviews or my website - dmdarque.com - for in-game screenies!

Character creation

Creating your character

⭐Join the discord & campaign with the links provided in the prep section on purchasing your seat ⭐ Make a level 5 character of any race/class/alignment in D&D Beyond and join the campaign ⭐You can use point buy or standard array ⭐Add one rare magical item of your choice You are compelled to work together to complete Mad Mel's tasks, but you may be any background you like (including evil) -- sometimes you have to put your plans for world domination aside to get the job done :)

What to expect

Preparing for the session

⭐ A good internet connection ⭐ Registered on my Discord server ⭐ A working mic (webcam optional, but helps me) ⭐ Some pen and paper ⭐ A level 5 character loaded into the campaign ⭐ A fun backstory to share :)

Safety

How DM Darque creates a safe table

Before we get started I'll run through the house rules on cooperative play and lines/veils - telling you how to advise me of a veil or hard line at any time. You can also DM me on Discord anytime before the game starts to let me know of anything that might be difficult for you.
