D&D Beyond Maps
D&D Beyond Maps is the integrated virtual tabletop for D&D Beyond, the official browser application for Dungeons & Dragons 5e. While it's currently in beta testing, D&D Beyond Maps is intended to supplement official adventure content with prebuilt maps and tokens, encounters, and integrated monster stat blocks, NPCs, and dice rolls. D&D Beyond Maps lets Dungeon Masters host games wherein they can share maps with their players, who can move their character tokens around and explore the map in real time. When fights break out, players can access their character sheets, monster stats, and combat tracking tools to run encounters in the software. D&D Beyond Maps allows players to create and upload their own maps as well, building encounters to run on them and supplementing them with stickers, animation, overlays, and fog of war. Maps players already own from their D&D Beyond library will be made readily available to them, and if they own adventure books, they'll be built out in D&D Beyond Maps as they backfill their content. Hosting games on D&D Beyond Maps is available to D&D Beyond users with a Master Tier subscription.

Maps on D&D Beyond
An introduction to the functionality of Maps on D&D Beyond's virtual tabletop platform, along with a quick demonstration of their use.
Run Encounters Directly in Maps
In this developer update for D&D Beyond Maps, learn how to run your encounters directly in the virtual tabletop. After you add tokens for your monsters and player characters, click the "add to encounter" button with all combatants selected to begin the combat tracker. Players and NPCs can roll initiative automatically or individually, as well as group under the same initiative or separate. You can hide, edit, and rename tokens, as well as set which side of the fight they're on.
Maps will automatically save one active encounter per map, so you can leave and return to an active encounter during or between sessions. Inside Maps, you can use the dice roller and monster stat blocks to automatically roll dice for your NPCs with their bonuses.
