D&D Beyond
D&D Beyond is Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition's officially-supported virtual tabletop and campaign management software. Purchased by D&D's publisher Wizards of the Coast in 2022, it's a character keeper, a rules compendium, an online store, and a virtual tabletop all in one browser-based app. D&D Beyond is free to use with limited features: joining others' hosted games and building a few characters and encounters. It's primarily a subscription-based service that gives subscribers access to its array of digital tools, including a 2D map builder and encounter tracker, and an extant version of the 3D map program Sigil, which is still in development. Anyone can access the basic rules and system reference document, but digital versions of rulebooks must be purchased separately. Accounts can organize and navigate their collection of books and content, and anything you own is transferable between tools; you can use monsters from books you've bought in the encounter builder, or a subclass you own in the character builder, for example. Subscribers can also host games using the virtual tabletop tools, which includes automated character sheet integration, dice rollers, and a custom bot for Discord users.

How to Use the Character Sheet on D&D Beyond
Take a quick tour of the D&D Beyond character sheet in this video! Aimed at first-time players claiming their first pre-generated character sheet, learn how D&D Beyond streamlines and automates the process of rolling and playing Dungeons & Dragons. Everything on your sheet is clickable, and lets you access the rules and explanations behind each stat, skill, item, and ability. You can also click on them to automatically roll dice, do the math, and report your results to the rest of the players and Dungeon Master.
You'll also be able to access your character's features from their class, including special powers and spells. Every explanation is also peppered with links back to the basic rules for those eager to dive deeper.
Once you claim or build a character, you'll get access to the dice roller and the character builder, allowing you to edit the character and when the time comes, level them up! You may also want to take notes, alter your description, or change your character's personality as they grow and you figure out who you are and how you want to play.
