How to prepare

Webcam and mic are needed for this game! I need both voice and video to be able to DM well and make sure everyone's enjoying themselves and engaged in the story. We play on roll20, but I'd prefer to run video through Discord. That said, if people prefer roll20, that can work fine too. Since we're going through roll20, we'll be using the dice and character sheets the website provides! You can roll at home if you have dice, but there's no need to own any if you don't want to. No knowledge of the rules is necessary, but if you're a new player of 5e, just message me ahead of time and I'm happy to chat and walk you through the basics! If you need help or for me to make a full character for you with minimal input, just say the word.

What I provide

I'll be setting up the Roll20 game with maps, handouts, music, and more. I have a lot of practice using the site and building a fun environment. If you ever want anything for your own, I'm happy to create and send a PDF for your personal use, as long as it's mine to give.

Gameplay details

Session 0 will be spent going over story themes, any triggers individuals feel comfortable sharing, character concepts (as much as they wish to share above the table), and hopes/expectations for the plot, party, and the world. Players will also be encouraged to chat with me one-on-one to work out specific details they don't want the rest of the party to be aware of just yet. I'll also send the RPG Consent Checklist over before the Session 0 to give me a good sense of what to avoid when building the story. As a heads up, there will not be homophobia, transphobia, or racism of any kind - I'm simply not interested in exploring those themes in my stories. Players are always welcome to step away from the game as they need to - no explanation is required, just a heads-up as you're able to provide it. If the game is longer than 2 hours, I'll usually call for a break at around the halfway mark. As for the X, N, and O cards - please message me or hold the cards up on video as necessary.

How will character creation work

Characters start at level 2, and will be created with my help before the game. If you're confident in making your character on your own, you're more than welcome to do so! If you want homebrew, just message me with your character concept and I'll see if I can make something that suits it. I have homebrew races, subclasses, and class options available for everyone! If you want to play a craft-magic focused Witch, a magic-channeling Conduit, a Martial Artist who hones their body into a weapon, or any number of strange and unique race options, just reach out to me and I can provide you a list and information.
