About the adventure

This is the classic 5e starter adventure — a perfect blend of story, combat, and mystery. Whether you're brand new to Dungeons & Dragons or a veteran looking to experience a well-paced adventure, Lost Mine of Phandelver delivers. You'll start in the frontier town of Phandalin, sent to deliver supplies… but quickly find yourselves swept up in bandit raids, missing persons, ancient dwarven ruins, and a villain known only as the Black Spider. The story is structured but leaves room for roleplay and character development. I’ll help guide new players through the rules, and I love rewarding creative solutions and big character moments. If you're looking for an adventure full of mystery, tactical combat, exploration, and NPCs who actually remember your choices — this is it.

Game style

Dungeon Crawl

A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Roleplay Heavy

“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

How will character creation work

Characters will start at Level 1, with creation done before the first session. I’m happy to assist with character building or run a brief onboarding session if needed. ✅ Ability Scores: Point Buy or Standard Array ✅ Allowed Sources: Official WotC 5e content (PHB, TCoE, XGtE, etc.) ❌ No homebrew races or classes ✅ Feats and multiclassing allowed ✅ Standard starting equipment or gold 🎭 Backstories can be short — just enough to tie your character to the world, the job, or the region of Phandalin Characters will be created directly in Roll20 using integrated character sheets. If you prefer to use D&D Beyond, I can help you transfer everything over or connect via Beyond20.
