About the adventure

A one-shot adventure to introduce you to the basics on D&D 5th edition! This short session is designed for brand-new players who want a crash-course on the basics of the game. You and your party must delve into the wilds near a new settlement to learn the fate of a group of adventurers who went missing on a monster hunt. There will be a brief overview of the basic rules, and a draft for character sheets, before jumping into the story.

How to prepare

The session will be conducted over a Zoom call, with a browser-based Virtual Tabletop; so you won't need any additional accounts or software; though I do recommend using Chrome on a PC, as the software I'm using isn't optimized for mobile or Mac. I'll run through some of the basic rules and concepts at the start of the session, but if you want to read up on some rules ahead of time, I can send you some links in SPG chat.

What I provide

I have PDFs of character sheets and image files for the battle maps available upon request.

Gameplay details

Like most D&D adventures, there will be scenes of action-violence; and this particular one-shot may lead to depictions of mild body-horror (nothing Cronenberg-ian, though)

How will character creation work

I will roll a roster of character sheets with a wide range of play styles prior to the game. After we run through the basic rules, we'll have a draft to pick characters, using dice to determine order.
