I had to take a break last week, but we’re back with a new roundup of tabletop RPG news! To make up for the missing week, we’ve got a few extra stories as a lot has happened in the TTRPG industry.

Read on to learn about: DnD’s new Eberron book gets delayed due to quality issues, a Dungeon Master University premium experience, a bigger price point for the DnD 2024 Starter Set, Green Ronin’s legal fight to get its stock back from Diamond Comics, and Paizo’s upcoming partnership that will let you print high-quality minis based on official characters.

Eberron: Forge Of The Artificer Delayed Over Print Quality Issue

via: WotC

Wizards of the Coast decided to delay the Eberron: Forge of the Artificer book release to December 9, 2025. In a D&D Beyond post, the company explains that both the standard and alt cover Forge of the Artificer books would warp over time. This was not caught in initial inspection but is now enough of a problem that the whole print run is being recalled and redone. This delay includes the Forge of the Artificer digital release. Early release for Master Tier subscribers and local game stores is now November 25. To compensate, WotC is including a free mini-adventure with all pre-order pickups.

Tabletop Vacations, who brought us the premium-priced D&D In a Castle experience, is now aiming to host a “symposium” for Dungeon Masters. This Dungeon Master University will hold its first seminar at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA over the weekend of January 2-3, 2026. Tickets start at $995 and come in three tiers which all include meals, unlimited seminars, and a Primary Course of your choice. Teachers include established names in the field like B. Dave Walters, Keith Baker, and DriveThruRPG. Courses will cover Skill Building, Campaign Building, World Building, and Career Building.

New D&D Starter Set Aims For a Bigger, Pricier Box

via D&D Beyond

Dungeons & Dragons is going big for its first starter set using the 2024 rules. The Heroes of the Borderlands Starter Set is up for pre-order on D&D Beyond, revealing its $49.99 price tag. That’s for the physical edition alone – the digital is $14.99 and the two together in a bundle are $54.99. For that price, the set is going for a more board game-style packaging full of NPC/monster/item cards, over 200 character tokens, and several maps. This may be WotC getting ambitious, or an effect of the tariffs as the set was likely printed in China according to recent company comments. The set will be available on September 16.

Green Ronin Publishing Crowdfunding For Its Legal Battle Against Diamond

The latest update on the Diamond bankruptcy story sees Green Ronin asking consumers and fellow industry folks to help get their product back. As Diamond Comic Distributors sorts out its bankruptcy, it is looking to sell off stock it’s holding for other companies to pay off its debt. This could not come at a worse time for Green Ronin Publishing, who has already committed money to their upcoming presence at Gen Con. As such, Green Ronin is crowdfunding on GoFundMe to obtain legal fees and get immediate representation in court. Green Ronin will file a motion along with other affected companies against Diamond’s liquidation of their product.

Paizo Partners To Bring Official STLs & Print-On-Demand Minis

via Paizo

Paizo announced a partnership with Titan Forge and MyMiniFactory to create more options for official miniatures. While WizKids released prepainted Pathfinder and Starfinder minis in the past, this new collaboration looks to give fans the ability to print their own characters based on official art. Starting on July 31, you’ll be able to buy STLs through MyMiniFactory or order print-on-demand from Titan Forge. The first set of available characters include Starfinder Second Edition player characters and troops from Pathfinder Battlecry!

With that, we come to an end – lots of cool stuff on the horizon! Wishing the best for Green Ronin in their legal fight. If you’re playing games this weekend, may your dice be kind.

Sergio Solórzano is the best Dungeon Master in the USA (according to a Wizards of the Coast competition, anyway). He loves minis and terrain but also goes all-in on improv!
