It’s crossovers galore in this week’s tabletop RPG headlines! We have a DnD/WoW leak, Paizo renewing its partnership with Archives of Nethys, a Godzilla sourcebook in the Marvel superhero RPG, and Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles getting a TTRPG.
Dungeons & Dragons/World Of Warcraft Crossover Leaked
Roll20 let slip a crossover product that brings WoW’s Azeroth to DnD. A Roll20 blog post stated that pre-orders are now live before any official word from Wizards of the Coast. It even had official art and a brief description hyping up the crossover. It has since been taken down, though screenshots are, of course, still spreading. Fan speculation is that the reveal is intended to be DnD’s big thing for GenCon.
Paizo And Archives Of Nethys Rekindle Partnership
Last week, word got out that Pathfinder publisher Paizo ended its licensing agreement with Archives of Nethys. The Archives is a website that contains all Pathfinder/Starfinder rules for free, a major selling point for fans of those games. However, due to Paizo’s recent money troubles from Diamond’s bankruptcy, they did not immediately renew the license.
Official support is now back on the menu, reports EN World, albeit with some changes. Archives of Nethys has to change some of its featured art so that it only features pieces designated for community use. They will still get free early PDFs of Pathfinder/Starfinder books, but not as early as before. Overall, it seems like a nice resolution to the situation.
Godzilla Stomps Into The Marvel TTRPG
The Marvel Multiverse RPG is getting a surprise guest star. A Godzilla sourcebook was announced for the Marvel RPG, due out this November. According to ICv2, the book includes stats for both kaiju and big monsters from Marvel. There will also be new rules to cover fighting such humongous threats and how to handle them in your superhero campaign.
Interview With A Vampire TTRPG Coming To Crowdfunding
You read that right: Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe Roleplaying Game is now a thing. Renegade Game Studios is at the helm of this adaptation, which is set to hit BackerKit in October. According to an email preview, the game focuses on relationships and emotional turmoil for the meat of its storytelling. Mechanics include a flashback system that players can use to deepen characters as well as create stories that span time periods. The AMC series is also mentioned heavily as a reference.
