Happy Halloween! We don’t have candy to hand out, but we do have some sweet pieces of news. Come find out what’s going on with Dungeons & Dragons, RPG book publishing, and cool Kickstarters.

This week: DnD cancels Sigil VTT, has sales success with the 2024 rulebooks, drops a new UA with more subclasses, and brings back big Dragonlance names. In other news, DriveThruRPG expands its ways of delivering print products and Torque Borg hits Kickstarter.

D&D News: Sigil Shutdown, 2024 Books Success, New UA, Dragonlance Returns?

A lot of news in and around the DnD offices this week, so let’s break it all down here. First up is the shutdown of 3D VTT Sigil. After reducing it to three developers earlier this year, WotC announced the official closing of Sigil. The platform will last until October 2026, with replacement rewards offered to those who used the platform and pre-ordered products related to it.

In better DnD news, the 2024 Core Rulebooks were the “strongest-ever start for D&D books” according to Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks. D&D Beyond Maps also drove up weekly website traffic. This came from a Hasbro earnings report, where WoTC saw a rise in revenue thanks to DnD and Magic: The Gathering.

Just after the new Forgotten Realms books hit early access, an October 2025 Unearthed Arcana added even more 2014 subclasses to the 2024 rules. This time, the Cavalier Fighter, the Warrior of Intoxication Monk, and the Oathbreaker Paladin join two Barbarian subclasses: the Path of the Spiritual Guardian and Path of the Storm Herald.

Head of Dungeons & Dragons Franchise Dan Ayoub is looking to restore trust in the brand, which seems to mean bringing big names back into the fold. Ayoub posted on Twitter a picture of himself with Tracy and Laura Hickman, Margaret Weis, and Joe Manganiello at what appears to be the DnD office. The caption includes “Amazing things ahead” hinting at more Dragonlance on the way in some form.

DriveThruRPG Starts Selling Offset Print Books In The US

A new way to buy high-quality RPG books is now available on DriveThruRPG. As reported by Rascal News, DriveThruRPG has provided customers with the option to buy certain books in physical form, though it was through print-on-demand. Customers in the US can now select a Retail option for select products, which will get them an offset print – the same kind used for mass printing and most often sold in game stores. The move has been praised as both another way for publishers to get books out there and a way customers can get better quality products than through print-on-demand.

Torque Borg Is The Latest Indie Take On The Hit Formula

via Rascal News

Illustrator and Art Director Matt DeMino is giving us the next genre to be Mork Bork-ified. Torque Borg takes the simple mechanics and fast-paced gameplay to a Mad Max-style post-apocalypse. There’s radiation Bleed that corrupts the wasteland, creating mutated bugs and beats. There’s a Doomsday Clock that acts as the ever-approaching end where everyone dies. But the big focus is on vehicles. There’s vehicular combat rules and lists of mods to customize your ride. The rque Borg Kickstarter is up and already funded with several stretch goals achieved to expand the experience.

That’s it for this week’s news! Thanks for reading, and may your dice be kind.

Sergio Solórzano is the best Dungeon Master in the USA (according to a Wizards of the Coast competition, anyway). He loves minis and terrain but also goes all-in on improv!
