We’ve got some big news on upcoming releases in this week’s edition of tabletop RPG news! This week: HBO is looking to make a Baldur’s Gate 3 show, Horrified DnD teases a spooky expansion, Marvel Multiverse sets up its Doomsday crossover, and Beadle & Grimm’s clue us in DnD’s next big book.
Baldur's Gate 3 TV Show In the Works From Last Of Us Co-Creator
As reported by Deadline, HBO is working on a BG3 TV show. Craig Mazin, who headed the Last of Us show, will “create, write, executive produce and showrun.” Also on board is Chris Perkins, former DnD game lead. As for those who wonder how the many choices and endings of BG3 will come into play, the show apparently aims to be a sequel rather than a straight adaptation. This means it will likely feature the iconic party members but also leave room to focus on new characters.
Horrified Dungeons & Dragons Ravenloft Expansion Incoming

The Horrified: Dungeons & Dragons board game must have been a success (we here at StartPlaying liked it well enough), because they’re doing an expansion. They being Ravensburger, and the expansion seemingly being a Ravenloft joint. Ravensburger put out a pic on social media teasing a purple-tinted logo for DnD Horrified and teasing a Fall 2026 release. The image in question was of a Carrionette, a creepy doll monster from Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft. That, and the Fall release, definitely point towards monsters from the spooky side of DnD.
A Doom-Heavy Avengers Secret Wars Is Coming To Marvel Multiverse RPG

The Marvel Multiverse RPG will be getting in on the Doomsday fever with an expansion book. Reporters over at EN World found a book listing detailing the contents of rvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game: Secret Wars Expansion. It seems like rather than being a campaign, the book will instead provide an “adventuring framework” for running Battleworld in the game. Also included in the 256-page tome will be more guidance on running cosmic adventures and bringing Rank X characters into your games. The expansion is due out on August 18.
Beadle & Grimm's Let Slip Release Windows For New DnD Books
In the Upcoming Products section of its website, Beadle & Grimm’s teased the release of two new DnD products. The company is known for its premium editions of Dungeons & Dragons campaigns and setting books, which include color maps, props, and handouts galore. And Beadle & Grimm’s now has listings for something in March and something in June. Both listings say that the subject will be announced closer to when pre-orders are officially made available. The March one is a Silver Edition, which can be anything from a setting book to a campaign. But Platinum Editions are typically reserved for big campaigns, pointing to the next DnD hardcover coming this summer.
We’re excited to see what DnD has in store for 2026! Until then, thanks for reading and may your dice be kind.
