The Webs of Chaos

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

You hear word of a Dwarven King, who has sent out a desperate call for aid. His daughter—beloved heir to the throne of Dûrhal—has vanished without a trace, and whispers speak of a growing darkness in the north. Few details are known. Fewer still return with answers. But coin is promised. Glory is implied. And for those seeking purpose, redemption, or simply the thrill of the unknown, the invitation is clear: sail to the shadowed Misty Isles and answer the king’s call. Yet what begins as a simple rescue may unravel something far greater—ancient powers awakening, forgotten evils returning, and webs of intrigue spun by hands both mortal and monstrous. Whether you seek to unravel a captivating storyline, engage in strategic battles, or forge alliances with the people of Ombralis, the path ahead is uncertain. Will your party rise to the challenge, or will the forces of darkness prevail?

Game style

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

How to prepare

Players will need a mic and free discord account so we can communicate during the game. A camera is optional. They will also need a free Roll 20 account so they can see maps and tokens for the game.

What I provide

I will bring a Roll 20 account for maps and tokens as well as descriptive and cinematic combat and encounters. I love using the rule of cool over rules as written or intended when it fits the situation. Players can expect a classic D&D Adventure for new and experienced players with collaborative storytelling.

Gameplay details

We will do a session zero that will go over the expectations of the game and see what the players are looking for out of the game and out of me as the Dungeon Master. I have an open door policy where I invite players to message me at anytime about questions or concerns they have with the game. We will use breaks as needed. We will debrief after each session to see how the players are feeling and to talk about things they liked and things they would like to see for next time.
