TaleSpire
TaleSpire is a virtual tabletop that brings pen-and-paper roleplaying games into 3D digital environments. Almost like a video game, players download the application, and the game master hosts an online multiplayer campaign where they construct grid-based maps, buildings, dungeons, and other environments for players to explore. Music, lighting, and miniatures all add to the atmosphere. GMs can bring their players into pre-built environments and build and edit their maps on the fly as the characters interact with the world. TaleSpire is currently in early access and downloadable via Steam. The project is ongoing, though there are already a number of community-created assets and modifications for the game. "Slabs" and "boards" of pre-built maps game masters can pull from, as well as supplementary software to allow the use of character sheets and rulesets.
