About the adventure

When a decades-old secret is exposed, an unassuming close friend of the PCs discovers her birthright is to rule one of the ancient Dragon Empires of Tian Xia—the empire of Minkai. Yet the current ruler of this empire, the mysterious and increasingly cruel Jade Regent, has no intention of giving up his hold over the throne. In order to save Minkai from a would-be tyrant, the PCs must not only escort their friend from Varisia to Tian Xia, braving the frozen horrors of the Crown of the World, but must aid her in gaining the trust and support of a nation on the edge of anarchy. Join us on this epic adventure that takes the group across the world of Golaria into Tian Xia with this conversion of the beloved, classic PF1e Adventure Path.

How to prepare

This is a new game and many are new to the system, so there will be a lot of patience all around. We will connect using Foundry VTT, and can check the demo available on their website to ensure compatibility. All dice rolling and character sheets will be provided via the software. For voice chat, we will use Discord. Please ensure you have a quality microphone, and will be in an environment free of background noise for the enjoyment of all. It is recommended that all players read over my gameplay guidelines at https://tinyurl.com/5x7nu93m , and have a basic knowledge of Pathfinder 2e rules.

What I provide

I will provide the Foundry VTT software with all the needed setup. From journals to music to tokens and character sheets, we'll keep track of it all there. Once the game is ready to go, I will provide a URL and password that players will use to connect.

Gameplay details

Jade Regent Using Foundry VTT, Discord. Old School DM Expected length - 3.5-4.0 hour sessions each week running about 12-18 months Must be 18+ years old Salutations. Thank you for your interest! Welcome to this exciting conversion of Jade Regent. For this adventure, we'll have numerous exciting optional rules being used in this campaign including free archetypes (about a dozen to choose from that fit the campaign), paragon ancestry, Jade Regent's NPC relationship rules, and my patented Heroic Progression system. The main focus in Jade Regent leans towards combat, with plenty of role-playing and light puzzle-solving. Battles will vary a bit in difficulty, especially if luck swings against the party. Tactics and planning are key. However, RP is important in this adventure as the characters will be traveling with a tight-knit band of caravaneers. Players are welcome to talk in character and make some sub-optimal decisions to stay in character and will discover new interactions from it. Others may be a bit quieter and still have a great time. There is a lighter emphasis on puzzle-solving, traps, skill checks, and the like. They show up occasionally but can have a big impact if not attended to. We do try and run things close to the rules, save where it slows things down. We are very friendly to other players new to the system. There will be a session zero to start the campaign, review the rules, the campaign setting etc. If a new player is brought into the campaign after starting, the DM will arrange a 1-hour one-on-one session to help on board if needed. Both are at no charge, of course. We have a 15-minute break towards the middle of the game (based on the group). I'm very open to feedback from players, using it to help make future adventures better. I am happy to answer questions and ensure the game is a good fit for all who want to play. Players will want to have a few ideas for a Pathfinder 2e character ready in advance, though the specifics will be decided on in session zero so players can coordinate classes. Specifics will be entered into Foundry during session zero. I'm generally available via Discord (JCServant#9884) and Startplaying messaging system to answer questions. How will character creation work

Any new party members joining will be leveled up to match the party, with some beginning gold to spend on gear, as well as beginning magic items if appropriate. I am available often on Discord to answer questions to facilitate the process. We will then meet together to create the character within Foundry's system to facilitate all dice rolls, HP tracking, etc.
