About Daniel
Hello, I'm Daniel (he/him), GM and DM of multiple games for a few decades. Favorite game is definitely D&D, in all of its incarnations. My favorite D&D flavors are Daggerheart, Pathfinder 2E and 13th Age, but I have ran Tyranny of Dragons twice using 5E. I also ran a lot of Ars Magica, and a bit of Call of Cthulhu, various Superheroes games, Star Wars, Warhammer, Invisible Suns, Vampire and more. Currently running a Ars Magica Saga on Mondays and Daggerheart on Thursdays. I love to play games in person, and I'm generally very happy GMing, but I do like to play from time to time. I'm also a dad of two twins, love to paint miniatures and play music (mostly bass). I also play video games, like FFXIV and Path of Exile. I work for a large Internet company on the music space and I live in California.

I became a GM because
I love witnessing the creation of a narrative, of friendship, of world-building. I also really like the facilitator role of a GM, which was always present in my work as a manager, a teacher, and a coach.
My favorite system of all Time is
Ars Magica, because I never got tired of its magical system. Any system that have something particularly unique and interesting aspects to it will bring my interest, like the escalation die in 13th Age, Hope and Fear from Daggerheart, or the three action economy from Pathfinder.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Taking care of my family (wife and daughters), playing bass, painting minis, playing videogames (Path of Exile, Factorio, Battletech, Civ), coding or reading.
How Daniel runs games
The best characteristic of a GM in my opinion is pacing: never let a game come to a halt. So my games tend to keep moving and we can accomplish quite a bit in a session. I like a good mix of combat, exploration and roleplay. Expect at least on combat per session, but also one puzzle/trap and one (relevant) NPC interaction. I like playing using video, if online. Getting visual cues from players helps me a lot, and vice-versa: I think players can enjoy the game more if they can see my face and my emotional tone. I also prefer diverse group of players, as diverse points of view makes campaigns much more interesting, and all people are welcomed on my games.

Rules are...
Rules are a framework to facilitate a shared narrative. It should save time by creating a common language between all players (including the GM), and not add additional time to the session.
Daniel's ideal table
My ideal table would be 4 players, with some diversity of gender, experience, age and gaming style. I like players that are engaged, and display curiosity towards the other players, their characters, and the fiction.
