About the adventure

Icewind Dale has become trapped in a perpetual winter. Ferocious blizzards make the mountain pass through the Spine of the World exceedingly treacherous, and this land has not felt the warmth of the sun in over two years. In fact, the sun no longer appears above the mountains, not even in what should be the height of summer. In this frozen tundra, darkness and bitter cold reign as king and queen. Most dale residents blame Auril the Frostmaiden, the god of winter's wrath. The shimmering aurora that weaves across the sky each night is said to be her doing-a potent spell that keeps the sun at bay. Dalefolk live in a scattering of settlements known as Ten-Towns. The drop-off in caravans coming from the south and travel between settlements in this never-ending winter has left everyone feeling isolated. Although each town has resolved to appease the Frostmaiden with sacrifices of one kind or another, no respite from winter's fury seems forthcoming. For adventurers such as yourselves, Ten-Towns is a place to test one's mettle and, in the spirit of heroes who have come before, leave one's mark on this frigid, blighted land. About The Game: Rime of the Frostmaiden is the newest adventure published by Wizards of the Coast. It has themes of horror, survival, isolation, darkness, and cold. **About Me** My name is Victor. I am a Philosophy Ph.D. Student who professionally DMs, and I use my philosophy background to inform my DM style. If you're into the rule of cool, roleplay, and moral dilemmas (does the party smother the dragon hatchling or risk waking its parents?) then I am the DM for you! I am well experienced with TTRPGs, fantasy settings, and DMing (7 years experience). I DM multiple times a week, constantly honing my craft. I often re-skin characters and plot points to better incorporate and immerse your character! **Applying:** Book the session on startplaying.games. If your application is chosen, I do a 15-20 minute interview on Discord with all players. This is to see if they would be a good fit for the game and party and to give the player an opportunity to ask questions. If all goes well, I will then invite you to the game on Roll20.

How to prepare

Players will require a decent and reliable mic. They will also need to make a Roll20 account for visuals and Discord account for voice. The DM will be using video and players may do so as well, but it is not required of players.

How will character creation work

Players will make a level 1 character. Standard Array for ability scores (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8). Point Buy is also acceptable. Any official 5e content can be used for character creation.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
