About the adventure
This really is a disgusting game that takes place in the sewers. You must find the sword of dragon slaying to help the more experienced heroes before they set out on their quest. You will get wet, and it will be revolting, but at least you can make a difference. Here's what it's about! https://youtube.com/shorts/lYOUk7NnG88?si=QajqZJ21MmuK041p This game will be a casual one shot. You may create your characters anywhere you like, roll20, dndbeyond, or even pencil and paper. If you ever need help, just ask. Everyone is welcome, experienced or not. My games tend to be creative, narrative, and roleplay heavy, though there will absolutely be combat. I'm an ancient DM that has been running games forever. I'm not great with voices, but I am very passionate when I play. I'm looking to set the stage and entertain! This is a D&D 5e adventure for level 5 characters. This is a one shot. Enjoy! Voice and Video, theatre of the mind. Adults only! We will play on Discord. All are welcome!

Meet the Game Master
About me
I have been roleplaying for decades, and I love it. I'm here to meet new and established players and give them the best games I possibly can. I have been published in science fiction and fantasy (Writer's of the the Future) and I love the genre. I treat my games with respect and a healthy dose of comedy, and I pride myself in adapting to your every move. I look forward to running a game for you!

Creating your character
For this game, create a character at level 5. Use Standard Array, and any official characters and classes are fine. Keep track of your character sheet any way you like, and roll dice during the game any way you like - even real ones! I trust you. If you need any help at all, just ask. I will be available to assist at least half an hour before the game starts.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Definitely have a camera and microphone, and you will also need Discord. We are not using maps, we are using Theatre of the Mind (descriptions without maps).
What Doc brings to the table
We try to use rules as written, but I am not opposed to using the rule of cool occasionally if the occasion warrants it. We use theatre of the mind, which keeps everything fast paced. This means we will not be using maps. There is a lot of emphasis on roleplay, but you will not be forced into the spotlight! There will be combat. Voice and Video are required, it's just more fun that way.
Homebrew rules
This is mainly rules as written. There is homebrew content, but no homebrew rules (no house rules).

Safety
How Doc creates a safe table
Regarding safety tools - we will be using the Luxton safety technique / discussion, which means we will openly discuss any potentially stressful in-game situation, and occasionally pause for feedback and discussion as the game progresses. I want everyone to be comfortable. Further, we will use aftercare as the game ends, where everyone is encourage to discuss how you feel about what happened in the game in an open and supportive environment.
