Wizkids gave StartPlaying a special preview of their upcoming miniatures series Return of the Dragons, and we’re sharing it with you!
Icons of the Realms: Return of the Dragons is a remaster of miniatures direct from D&D 5E’s classic campaign Tyranny of Dragons. The massive quest takes adventures from villages under siege to murky swamps to a flying giant castle to many other dangerous and distant locations before ending in a clash against Tiamat's fearsome dragons.Â
Return of the Dragons provides 44 miniatures that span the scope of what a party will face on this coast-spanning campaign. Check out this up-close preview of eight boxes from the set presented by yours truly, GM ActionSerg.
As you’ll see in the video, I got 32 figures in all with only two repeats. Wizkids wasn’t shy with the dragons, as I pulled four including the rare Gold Dragon. The Young Black Shadow Dragon featured on the headline image is also a personal fave.Â
Other highlights include figures for player characters, a very detailed frost giant, a severe-looking oni, a ballista for those epic set piece battles, and plenty of minion monsters like kobolds and orcs.Â
The Dungeons & Dragons Icons of the Realms: Return of the Dragons set is now available for pre-order through Wizkids. It’s targeting a January release, so you can have dragons of your own very soon.
