Welcome back to StartPlaying tabletop news! In this week’s headlines: Luke Gygax is working with WotC on a new Greyhawk book, Evil Hat Games releases 53 games into PWYW pricing, and Public Access brings analog horror to TTRPG form.
New Gygax Greyhawk Book Coming From WotC

Luke Gygax is writing a book called Melf’s Guide to Greyhawk with eventual plans for it to be published through Wizards of the Coast. The announcement was made at GaryCon this past week. During a press briefing, Gygax took the stage with WotC’s Dan Ayoub to make the announcement.Â
Ayoub made reference to mending a rift with the Gygax family and his excitement for having Luke work on official Greyhawk content. Luke spoke to his love for and history with the setting, as well as how eager he is to write more adventures in Greyhawk. No release window was given for Melf’s Guide.Â
Evil Hat Games Offering Over 50 'Pay What You Want' Games

Evil Hat Games is literally giving away 53 titles on DriveThruRPG. The publisher explained on BlueSky that it wants to “give back a little.” So several games covering various genres and concepts are set to PWYW or “Pay What You Want.” This can mean $0. The vast majority of these offerings are based on the Fate Core System, including the Fate Core rulebook itself. No time limit was given for this price point, but it’s still a good idea to grab anything that appeals to you ASAP.Â
Public Access Is The Subject Of Kickstarter's Latest Indie TTRPG Hit

Another TTRPG Kickstarter is making waves by being fully funded in minutes. It’s Public Access, a mystery/horror game about delving into lost analog media circa the 1990s. The game came out digitally in 2023, but this current Kickstarter campaign is all about a hardcover edition with updated rules. There’s also a whole new book of mysteries called Signals from the Other Side. The game mechanics are based on Brindlewood Bay, as it’s the same creators. Those into found footage and creepypastas should check it out before the crowdfunding ends April 12.Â
