DnD WoW Subclasses Make Big Changes To Class Features
Wizards of the Coast is beginning its promotion cycle for the upcoming World of Warcraft DnD book, including showing off character options on the Dungeon Masters actual play show. The cast is using WoW-classes-turned-DnD-subclasses in a new story set in Azeroth. Reporters at EN World spotted major changes to the original DnD class features to swap in more Warcrafty abilities. For instance, the Death Knight replaces Paladin’s Lay on Hands and Divine Smite with more Necrotic damage-dealing powers. Another cool upgrade sees Beast Master Rangers being able to share Weapon Masteries with their companion.
Dragonlance World Book Plans Show Dragon Riding, PCs Becoming Heroes Of The Lance
The original Dragonlance creators and the current DnD Team recently met to plot out an upcoming setting book. A photo of the meeting was shared by Tracy Hickman, and mostly consisted of a whiteboard containing a loose outline of a Krynn world book. Among the highlights are a chapter dedicated to dragons including riding them, guidance on running epic scale battles from multiple PoVs, and the notion that player characters pick up the mantle from well-established Dragonlance characters to become their own Heroes of the Lance.
Paizo To Raise Pathfinder & Starfinder Prices Next Month
If you’re looking to get into Pathfinder or Starfinder, you’ve got a week left to pick up some core rulebooks before they suffer a price hike. Paizo announced that it will raise prices on certain ‘Finder books starting October 1. Pathfinder’s full 2E core book line will see a $10 raise for hardcovers, while Starfinder’s Alien Core is going up by $5. A few Lost Omens hardcovers will go up by $5, as will the Pocket Edition rulebooks. Current PDF prices remain. Paizo cites the impact of the current business environment, from tariffs to increased costs in both shipping and printing, for the hike.
UK Games Expo Prohibits Products Made By AI
The biggest hobby games convention in the UK just put tight restrictions on AI after getting backlash for not doing so sooner. The convention posted a new AI policy this week, reports Rascal, that bans products made “completely or in significant part” by AI. Not only does that mean tabletop games using AI images or generated text, but also merchandise sporting AI-generated designs. This comes after the 2026 UKGE event which didn’t have any restrictions on AI, causing industry attendees to call out seeing several games made by AI on the vendor floor.
