Owlbear Rodeo
When all you want from your virtual tabletop is the virtual tabletop, Owlbear Rodeo is for you. A simple, no-frills option for game masters who just want to put up a map, throw down some tokens, and get their game on, Owlbear Rodeo puts as little friction as possible between the tool and the game, so you get to the actual game right away! Since its introduction, a few features have been added to Owlbear Rodeo version 2.0, including support for animated maps, mobile devices, tools for drawing, fog, and text, plus official and community-created extensions for folks who want to customize their experience. But the core promise of Owlbear Rodeo, a simple virtual tabletop that serves as the digital equivalent of a dry-erase mat, markers, and a few simple minis, definitely remains.

Owlbear Rodeo is fantastically simple to use, and this video will get you proficient in under ten minutes. It's also the first in a playlist, so if you're interested in the finer points, take a look at the next few videos to maximize your use of this virtual tabletop tool.
You'll learn how to create an account, create your first room, and create a scene, either from the available options or your own uploaded map or image. You can adjust the size of the image, its fog, and other details in the scene's settings. You can populate your scene with images and tokens from Owlbear Rodeo's library, or again, images you upload yourself.
You can build an encounter by adding tokens for the NPCs present, labeling them, duplicating them, and placing them in the scene, hiding or revealing them as you like. You can customize your room with extensions from among official and community-created modifications, and invite players to join you on their own browsers or mobile devices.
