In this spacefaring adventure, extract the secrets of a dying system -Doomspace. Will you protect these spacers or profit off their misery?
About the adventure
Prepare for a cosmic adventure unlike any other! In the hybrid fantasy sci-fi setting of Flayer's Flyer, you'll join the enigmatic Captain Flayer, a half-human mind flayer with a thirst for knowledge and a penchant for the unknown. Her starfaring vessel, the Flyer, is a unique blend of arcane magic and advanced technology, charting a course through the vast expanse of the D&D multiverse, beginning in DOOMSPACE from the SPELLJAMMER sourcebook. Each session brings new possibilities as the Flyer takes on temporary crew members to achieve her goals of exploration before this system destroys itself. Be a veteran dwarven artificer engineer, a nimble elven rogue pilot, a curious goblin druid xeno-biologist or hundreds of other space-faring ne'er-do-wells as you explore intriguing ruins, forgotten colonies and curious worlds. 🚀🚀🚀 Undertake one or many of these 1-shot homebrew exploration modules. They are easy for any player with a base understanding of 5e to jump right into. While there is an overarching narrative and players can bring items they've found from one Flyer session to the next, each encounter will get wrapped up in a nice bow at the end of each hour session. Join one or join 'em all - it's delightfully episodic in the most Trekkie of ways. Will you uncover ancient secrets, face cosmic horrors or simply help Captain Flayer find the best Wildspace mead? Join the crew of the Flayer's Flyer today and find out! You can make any Level 5 character of any race, alignment and class; with any abilities or feats you like from any of my books. Nothing is off the table. The setting is DOOMSPACE from Spelljammer but the encounters are homebrewed. I'll use 2024 rules in gameplay but you may make a hybrid, 5e or 2024 player character.

Meet the Game Master
About me
I've been playing D&D since the 2000s and started DMing a few years ago when my regular DM took a break. Now I run weekly modularised one-shots and mini-campaigns. I'm not a rules lawyer and I love to reward my players for creativity and comedy! While sometimes the themes can get dark, my goal is always to create realistic-feeling worlds with real stakes and shades of grey. I'm narrative-forward and my players say I'm great at creativity, voices and storytelling. Visit my profile for reviews or my website - dmdarque.com - for in-game screenies!

Creativity

Storytelling
DM Darque is a top-tier Dungeon Master. She's creative, funny, does great voices, has background music, provides a welcoming environment to everyone, responds quickly, and values feedback. I especially enjoy her modular campaigns, where you can pick up and put down any character. I keep the same character, so I can bring my elite loot from previous adventurers. (My ranger has three magic longbows at this point.) Another recurring player makes a new character each session, and he tries out a wild variety of builds. I don't know how she manages to balance combat, roleplaying, and wrapping up a story in one four-hour session, but she does it each time.
This was my first completed campaign (or rather mini-campaign) ever. After playing with Darque for some months, it was good to have a change of pace from one-shots, adjusting to the tempo of a more measured adventure where investigation and discussion were the focus, rather than charging ahead. Her characters all had character, her performances were on point and she allowed us to be creative without forgoing mystery and peril. I'm looking forward to the next campaign she runs. First review below: My first time playing D&D (or any other RPG) could hardly have been better. Darque took me through the basics of the interface and the game, so I knew what to expect. The other players were patient and friendly and Darque's campaign balanced horror with humour, including a genuinely funny character that she voiced expertly.

Before we get started I'll run through the house rules on cooperative play and lines/veils - telling you how to advise me of a veil or hard line at any time. You can also DM me on Discord anytime before the game starts to let me know of anything that might be difficult for you.
