Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
Step into a world of magic and fantastical abilities where you can control the very threads of reality. We will explore a world that very much mirrors our own, but where powers beyond our understanding manifest inside ordinary, everyday people.

I LOVED playing with Kat, she runs a really fun and safe table. Lots of laughs, adventures, and exciting combat! I always feel comfortable asking any questions about plots, or rules or anything. I love the encouragement to try any idea (including melting a monster instead of fighting it!). Kat's a great roleplayer and even throws on voices or accents when the moment is right! How to prepare
Make sure you have an account on Discord so you can access all session materials. It is a GREAT idea to familiarize yourself with the platform beforehand for your own comfort, but some hiccups and confusion are expected. Look things over and we will work together at start time to get everyone up and running!
What I provide
Kat will bring maps, music/soundscaping, a planned encounter, and a rough itinerary of teaching time vs. play time.
Gameplay details
All players will receive a copy of the Monte Cook Games Player Consent Checklist. This must be filled out and returned prior to gameplay! I will compile all player checklists into a master document of Lines and Veils which can be added to at any time.

How will character creation work
We will work together to build characters during our FREE session zero as part of the learning process. Characters will start at level 1 using the base rules of the Cypher System. Kat will provide access to the Cypher rule book, players guide, and digital character sheets.
