Way of the Wicked (Villain Campaign/d&d5e [legacy])
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Imprisoned. Branded. Forsaken. You have been caught, your sentence to be carried out. All you need is one small chance to escape, and wreak vengeance on the island nation of Talingarde. You play as captured criminals, who must work together to escape a prison and then swear a pact to Asmodeus to wreak terrible vengeance on the nation that dared to try and exert control over you. ~~~ This is a level 1 to level 20 campaign ported over from third party Pathfinder campaign of the same name. I've spent years running and tweaking this campaign, adapting some of its best elements and rewriting elements that have aged poorly. If you've ever wanted to play out a story where your character takes over King Arthur's Britain, this is the game for you!
Game style
Dungeon Crawl
A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!

How to prepare
Microphone and Discord required. Begin formulating character ideas that we can bounce off of one another, and be prepared to work with other players to build immediately points of connection to ease the characters into working as a group from the start.
What I provide
Fully implemented VTT experience World building supplements to help players build characters tied into the narrative from the get-go A diligent attention to our safety tools, and several specific Lines I do not want to cross.
Gameplay details
Open Communication is key when collaborating in a story like this. Session 0 will be used to get used to the game mechanics and go over any potential triggers to avoid and redirect from. I like to keep a running list of potential triggers that inform the Lines and Veils, and will routinely rewrite elements to work around them (for example, I was running Curse of Strahd but one of the players had a serious issue with asphyxiation/hanging, so I swapped out all references of that, of Gallows, etc, to something else entirely). I like spending a few minutes at the end of a session Debriefing and talking about how much fun we had and anything I think deserves highlighting, and Stars and Wishes helps with that a lot. Considering the heavy themes present, we will have to spend an extended period of time in Session 0, and possibly during a Session 0.5, to make sure we are on the same page about tone and when/where to explore the heavier, nastier themes that may come up during a villainous campaign.

How will character creation work
We will build characters in session 0. Players should come prepared to build ones with deep ties to the setting. Drop-in characters will not work. At least one player should be interested in playing a dedicated worshiper of Asmodeus, though playing a mechanical class that derives powers from Asmodeus is not necessary. Depending on the variation of the game we choose to play, PCs should also be willing to engage in an Infernal contract to prevent PC infighting. I am not interested in playing out something where players will be fighting each other constantly.
