FFG Star Wars - Escape from Mos Shuuta + Long Arm of the Hutt

FFG Star Wars - Escape from Mos Shuuta + Long Arm of the Hutt

Star Wars RPG by Fantasy Flight Games | Campaign

About the adventure

This campaign will be a combination of two connected adventure modules for the Star Wars RPG, Escape from Mos Shuuta and its sequel, The Long Arm of the Hutt. Both modules are tailored more towards players new to the system and to TTRPGs in general, although I welcome players of any experience level.

Game style

Rules as Written (RaW)

Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

How to prepare

- Discord account, with a working mic (and ideally one that isn't plagued by static or muffled or anything that would interfere in people's ability to understand you). - Willingness to use Foundry VTT - it's not especially hard to get a hang of, and IMO, it blows Roll20 out of the water, though some players are intimidated by it. - Having a good attitude and, if available, sense of humor.

What I provide

For gameplay, we play on a Foundry VTT server that typically remains up for several days before and/or after each session, though if a player wishes to access it when it's switched over to another world (such as to make any changes to your character sheet), I'll do so if I'm online and not working on something else. As for what I offer to the table as a GM, I've been told - and I agree with the following - that some of my strengths include a good understanding of the rules, but being willing to bend them a bit in the interest of making the game more fun; providing players with a number of options for how to overcome challenges in most situations, rather than always bottlenecking them into a particular solution; and solid knowledge of any particular game setting and the ability to use it to tell a more engaging story that fits right in with that setting. I also encourage and reward creativity, outside-the-box strategies, and good senses of humor.

Gameplay details

In my Discord server, there will be a rules channel that all players will have access to, that goes into detail on what is expected of players conduct-wise. If players ever have a problem with anything, whether it's content in the game, the way the game is run, the behavior of other players, etc., you're welcome to reach out to me privately during or after the game, or step away mid-session (and possibly return later on in the session) if that's what you wish to do.

How will character creation work

Character creation can be done independently or, if assistance is required, with my help. You can play either as one of the pre-gen characters included in the scenario, or as a character of your own design. For players who opt to play their own characters, Edge of the Empire careers/specializations are preferred, though that doesn't mean that Age of Rebellion or Force and Destiny careers/specializations are off-limits. I'd also prefer to minimize the amount of Force users in the party, so it would be a case of "first come, first served". All characters will have starting species XP, though for this particular game, Obligation won't be a factor. As a result, you won't be able to take additional XP or credits in exchange for more Obligation, but to compensate for that, all players will have an additional 2,000 credits (which, coupled with the 500 starting credits, gives you 2,500 to spend pre-game). Unofficial species are allowed within reason, although I need to know what it is and what stats you're using before I give it my approval.
