Blood Lords: Crimson Shadows Rising
Pathfinder 2e | Campaign
About the adventure
In the nation of Geb, the dead rule, and the living serve—if they wish to survive. This is a land where ghouls farm the fields, vampires hold court, and ghosts whisper secrets in the halls of power. The Blood Lords, a council of the most powerful undead, shape the future of this grim nation. But unrest stirs beneath the surface. Rival factions vie for influence, conspiracies threaten the order of undeath, and even the mightiest Blood Lords are not as secure as they seem. As one of Geb’s ambitious elite, you have been given the chance to rise. You may be a cunning necromancer, an undead aristocrat, or a mortal striving to carve out power in this dangerous world. But power is never given freely—you must take it. Whether through political intrigue, dark bargains, or sheer force, you will navigate the treacherous underbelly of Geb’s ruling class, uncover deadly secrets, and determine the fate of this land of eternal night. This is a dark fantasy campaign steeped in intrigue, ambition, and moral dilemmas. Expect political maneuvering, dangerous alliances, and the constant threat of betrayal. Undead characters are not just an option—they are part of the world’s fabric. If you choose to walk the path of undeath, you will explore both who you were in life and what you have become. Your actions will shape Geb’s future—will you uphold its undead order, seize power for yourself, or bring it all crashing down? This campaign is perfect for players who love deep roleplay, rich lore, and complex political narratives. Your character will not be a wandering adventurer—they will belong in this world, with real stakes in its future. If you are ready to immerse yourself in a world where death is only the beginning, then step forward—the Blood Lords are waiting.

How to prepare
To ensure a smooth and immersive experience, players should come prepared with the following: 🎤 Required Software & Accounts: A working microphone (voice chat is essential) Discord (for communication and coordination) 📖 Rules & Character Prep: Read the Blood Lords Player Guide – This will give you essential background on Geb’s culture, politics, and daily life. It’s a crucial tool for making your character fit naturally into the setting. Familiarize yourself with Pathfinder 2E rules – You don’t need to be an expert, but knowing the basics (especially combat, skills, and the action economy) will make for a smoother experience. 🦴 Character Creation Prep: Bring a character concept to Session 0 – Your character should be from Geb or have a strong reason to be here. Use the Free Archetype & Gradual Ability Boosts – These are in play, so plan accordingly. 💀 Additional Notes: Webcams are not required but are welcome if you prefer. Sessions will run for approximately 3–4 hours each. Be ready for intrigue, dark fantasy, and moral dilemmas—this is a game of ambition, power, and undeath.

I’m bringing the full toolkit to make Geb’s undead realm pop: 🩸Discord Server: Custom section just for this game—your hub for plotting and scheming. 🩸Foundry VTT: Hosted on my own server for speed and 24/7 access, loaded with custom tiles from Forgotten Adventures for that gritty, blood-soaked vibe. 🩸Paizo Content: Official paid Blood Lords material, plus extras from team+ to expand on content. 🩸Custom Maps: When Geb demands it, I’ll craft unique maps with Dungeondraft—crypts, fields, whatever fits your schemes. 🩸Music: Ambient tracks to set the mood—think eerie winds over zombie-tilled fields or tense strings for a Blood Lord’s council. 🩸My GM style? Immersive and reactive. Expect a living world—crimson mists, clattering bones, and NPCs with distinct voices (test me—I’ll match your energy!).
Gameplay details
Lines and Veils Lines (hard no’s) and Veils (fade-to-black) are set via Discord DMs before we start. I’ll suggest Geb-specific triggers—like undead gore or betrayal—during Session 0, and players add theirs privately. No doc, just open chat with me anytime to adjust. Keeps it dark but safe. Open Door Step away anytime—no questions, no fuss. Need a break from Geb’s shadows? Mute, leave the call, whatever works. I’ll pause if needed and check in later. Session 0 In session 0 we'll discuss safety but if it is something you'd rather touch on in private then it also fine too. Session 0 is there as a catch all for safety as aspects. X, N, O Cards Digital via Discord DMs: “X” stops a scene (zombie gore too much?), “N” warns me to ease off (scheme hitting too close?), “O” says you’re good. Introduced in Session 0, always active. Aftercare I’ll hang out post-session on Discord for 10-15 minutes. Quick debrief—favorite moments, any lingering vibes—plus a private “You good?” DM if needed.

How will character creation work
In this campaign, character creation is a collaborative process designed to ensure that every character is fully immersed in the world of Geb. This isn’t just a story about adventurers—this is a story about people who belong in this land, who understand its undead rulers, and who have carved out a place for themselves within it. Key Details: Starting Level: 1 Variant Rules: Free Archetype & Gradual Ability Boosts Source Materials: The Blood Lords Player Guide is an essential reference. Character Creation Timing: Come to Session 0 with a concept in mind. We’ll take time to refine and deepen it together. What I’m Looking For in a Character: 🦴 You must fit into Geb. Your character should be from Geb or have a very strong reason to be here. They should understand its laws, culture, and expectations. This is a land where the undead rule—your moral compass should reflect this reality. Undead Characters Must Have Depth. If you play an undead, you should have both a past life and an unlife. Who were you before? How has undeath changed your outlook, emotions, and motivations? Your Story Must Make Sense. This is an intrigue-heavy campaign where political maneuvering and ambition are key. Your character’s background should align with the themes of Geb, whether they are a necromancer seeking power, a living citizen trying to thrive under undead rule, or a ghoul who has embraced their new form. Session 0 & Finalizing Your Character Bring a character concept to Session 0. We’ll work together to refine their backstory, ensuring that they are not just mechanically built but narratively compelling. This campaign is about deep, immersive storytelling, so every character should have a strong foundation within Geb’s society. This is not a campaign where you just “happen to be here.” You belong here. Let’s make your character feel like they truly live in the land of the dead.
