About the adventure
You are a member of the criminal gang The Devil's Cobblers. You specialize in procuring difficult to obtain goods from unaware individuals who posses a keen interest in maintaining their trinket monopolies. Your thieves; and you are quiet good at it. So good in fact that a rich so and so has demanded a meeting with you for a possible gig. What could go wrong? This is BEGINNER game for Blades in the dark. The purpose of this game is to teach the system and mechanics through a home brewed one shot. This game will give a very rough overview of the world of blades and is focused more on helping people to understand general game flow, basic mechanics, and mostly why this system is so fun! (Deep cuts can be taught as well on request)

This gm packs a hell of a range of fun voices, some I swear had to be done with a voice mod but weren't. He allows creativity and explains lancer rules well. Great if gm if this is your first experience with lancer and I highly recommend him if your looking for a game!

He's fantastic at setting up a scene and getting everyone hyped to play. He does amazing NPCs, always memorable characters. He's also very good at explaining game systems and laying out options for players who aren't confident with playing the game yet.

I have been in a few games with him. He puts a lot of effort into his games. A favorite moment was in our Blades in the Dark game, a player decided to flash back to having been sending both bank guards love letters for the past month. And he rolled with it, turning the daring bank robbery into a wacky romcom, as we all now had to make sure neither guard knew the other was also in love with the player character while we leveraged them to rob the bank. It had us all in stitches.

How to prepare
You will need a decent mic and access to the internet, else there is nothing to prepare, just show up and be ready to learn blades!

Gameplay details
While blades is a grim dark and serious setting, I run it with a lighter tone with moments of seriousness. The X card will be available, but the tone and topics will be pretty tame through out the game. ☆ Lines: - rape ☆ Veils: - graphic depictions of injury - torture - romance/sex ☆ Warning: This is my first attempt at professional GMing, I just want to be up front with that so that you know what you are getting into. I have run this module multiple times before and have 10+ years of GMing experience, but I may make mistakes. If you are unhappy with the game I of course honor the standard refund policy offered by Start Playing. ☆ Note on turn length and pauses: This game is beginner friendly, as such there may be times when the game slows down to help explain concepts to newer players. While I will work to keep these moments to a minimum, I ask that players respect each other in their learning journeys. ☆ Table rules: - 1. Players are to treat everyone at the table with respect. No bigotry, sexism, or just being an entitled jerk. If you break this rule, you will be dropped from the game.

How will character creation work
There will be no need for character creation as I will provide a selection of pre made characters for players to choose from at session start. If the group wishes to make custom characters for the one shot we will handle that game day at the start of the session.
