Kingdom Building- 4x Strategy in D&D | Wednesdays 7pm EST | ๐ŸŒˆ

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

Carve out your corner of the world from the clutches of corrupt rulers, rally warriors to your banners, tear down the dystopian empire, restore peace and balance to the world of Arterria! Changes in climate have brought the economy to a grinding halt, tensions are high, refugees abound, monsters are appearing seemingly out of nowhere, and war is on the horizon. Choose your allies and survive the collapsing ecosystem. The game will start small, but based on your actions will have a greater focus on grand strategy and kingdom management than my other campaigns. Homebrew setting in Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition (2014). Exploring themes of environmental collapse and its consequences. Women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and beginners are encouraged to join!

Game style

Rule of Cool (RoC)

โ€œRule of Coolโ€ emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a systemโ€™s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

How to prepare

Microphone is highly recommended, Webcam is encouraged but optional. This listing is open to all experience levels, so a willingness to learn if you're new is a must! Otherwise, any familiarity you can bring to the game is appreciated. If you're experienced, patience is a must! And a willingness to help teach is appreciated. Character creation will happen at or shortly before session 0, but an idea for a character (or a few ideas!) can go a long way.. maintaining a willingness to work together to create an interesting party/story, is required.

Gameplay details

Session 0 (free!) will be used both for expectation setting with the whole group and character creation. May contain depictions of violence, cruelty, horror, and prejudice but I don't like "gratuitous violence" or "gross" games and tend to keep things bright. Players are encouraged to message the DM about any concerns they have. All concerns are taken seriously.

How will character creation work

I will touch base with you about character creation before the game starts and to help answer questions about lore. Session 0 (free!) is also available to tie characters together, and handle lines and veils. Prefer sticking to published D&D source books (exceptions may be made upon review), most familiar with PHB (Players Handbook), TCoE (Tasha's Cauldron of Everything), and XGE (Xanathar's Guide to Everything) I have digital copies to share as well. * Please no evil characters, loners, haunted ones, psionics, blood hunters, Ravenloft, imp familiars, edgelords, or other horror/spooky characters.
