About the adventure
Welcome to Barovia, where the mists close in around you just so you know you're trapped. This gothic horror campaign brings in all the brings in all that is eerie, spooky and horrifying into an epic adventure. Prepare yourselves for a high stakes game of cat and mouse against one of Dungeons and Dragons most iconic villains, Count Strahd von Zarovich, where fates have placed you in the role of the hunted mouse. Outmaneuver the dreaded vampire lord while gaining the skills and tools you'll need to destroy this unholy abomination. Characters will start at level one and advance to level 10 should they be able to outrun or outfight the hordes of minions sent to destroy them. This will be an "old school game" in that all characters will come from the original races (human, elves, dwarves, halflings, etc) unless an extremely impressive backstory can be presented to the DM. The game will contain many add-ons to enhance the setting and gameplay. Think you've got what it takes to take on a Vampire Lord so powerful his realm was ripped from the rest of reality? Hello all! I'm looking for 5 or 6 brave souls to take on one of Dungeons and Dragons most iconic villains, Count Strahd von Zarovich!. I have currently completed three campaigns of Curse of Strahd. I'm hoping to start up another in order to keep my Strahd fix going! I happen to think that this campaign is one of D&D's finest. A well balanced mix of role playing and combat encounters that makes for an incredible experience. I have been running one version of Curse of Strahd or another since about 1984 (except for 4th edition, in my world 4th edition was like the Star Wars prequels in that they don't exist :). All are welcome and all will have a voice at this table. The beauty of this game is that it is a shared story telling experience and in order for that to work to it's best everyone's voice should be heard. Sorry but no homebrew or UA in this game. The official content in the library for this game is quite extensive so you shouldn't have any problems playing whatever you wish. Games will be played weekly and will last at least three hours. VTT on Roll20 with voice on Discord.

How to prepare
Gameplay will be on Roll20 and voice on Discord (no video). A working microphone/headset or quiet room will be required. A working knowledge of the rules and your character would be appreciated but is not necessary.
What I provide
This game will have high quality maps, a soundtrack, use of API's and Macros.
Gameplay details
I am looking for players over the age of 18 for this campaign due to its level of violence, gore and horror. Without giving away too many spoilers but there are possible scenes of demonic possession, suicide, witchcraft, murder, genocide, and of course the undead. The setting for this campaign is designed to be depressing and does so in excellent fashion. I do not role any role play any romantic scenes above a "Rated G" level. Please don't ask me to do it and I won't ask you. Some foul language will be used by the DM when it is character appropriate. The use of firearms will not be used in the campaign (I feel like it ruins the flavor of the setting). A Session 0 will be used to create characters (if not done beforehand), flesh out backgrounds etc, and to lay down the ground rules for the adventure. Should a player have an issue with any of the content warnings listed above (or anything else) they may absolutely tell me of it so it can be changed/removed from gameplay. I will also be available for any discussions you wish to have in private regarding contents of the game that you may find disturbing.

How will character creation work
Characters will be level 1 and created on Roll20 using charactermancer. Your character can be created ahead of time in order to speed up game start if you wish. Players will use either Standard Array or you can Roll 'em Old School (roll 4d6 dropping the lowest die roll) for starting statistics.
