About the adventure

Welcome to Otari, a thriving coastal town with a rich history and dark secrets waiting to be uncovered. As the first light of summer gleams off the dome of the Dawnflower Library and the massive Giant's Wheel churns, you find yourself drawn into a mystery that will challenge your wits, bravery, and moral compass. Your adventure begins with a curious summons from Wrin Sivinxi, Otari's eccentric oddities merchant. Her stargazing has revealed strange lights emanating from Gauntlight, an abandoned lighthouse deep within the treacherous Fogfen swamp. As you delve into the mysteries surrounding this ominous beacon, you'll uncover a vast underground complex known as the Abomination Vaults, filled with eldritch horrors, ancient magic, and the echoes of a long-forgotten evil. From the bustling docks of Otari to the depths of a multi-level dungeon, your party will face monstrous foes, unlock arcane secrets, and navigate the political currents of a town on the brink of change. Will you become the heroes Otari needs, or will the dark forces lurking beneath the surface consume both you and the town you've sworn to protect? The Abomination Vaults await, calling brave adventurers to write their names in the annals of history – or be forever lost in its depths.

How to prepare

Players will be required to have a mic, discord and to have a stable internet connection. The only rules I ask you know are the one's involving your character. I am very familiar with most of the rules and I am always willing to help explain and streamline things for my players. I have ran with many new players and I am pretty confident in taking on and teaching new players.

What I provide

I will run this on foundry VTT hosted by the Forge. I have all the art, battlemaps, and cities setup for everyone. I am no voice actor, however, I am adept enough to do some different voices. I aim to have tactical games that are lethal if the players face things they are not prepared for or if they enact not very well thought out plans. However, It should be easy if the players properly prepare and investigate. I find this style rewards players for investing into Role Play elements and engaging with each other for more strategy. My philosophy is to focus on Rules as Written with exceptions. To elaborate, if something sounds cool and the player has invested skills, feats, consumables, or resources to accomplish something then I feel that it should be rewarded in some manner, so long as, it doesn't break immersion. I also do not mind working with you if you have a cool idea or theme for your character even if it isn't explicitly allowed in the rules.

Gameplay details

I will host a free session 0 to discuss expectations at the table and to give time for everyone to collaborate on making a cohesive party and possibly tie their backstories together or with the main plot of the campaign.

How will character creation work

All characters should be created on or after session 0. Foundry VTT provides an excellent framework to make characters easily. You can also make characters on pathbuilder and import it directly into Foundry VTT. For this module the starting level will be 1. All information for making characters is available to the players for free on archives of nethys for pathfinder2e.
