Intro to DnD 5e in Lost mine of Phindelver

About the adventure

We will be meeting every other week on Saturday at 5 PM. I am welcoming to players of all skill levels, and do not require any additional resources for my players. Character sheets will be available upon request, and I will guide all players through the character creation process. While all skill levels are welcome, I will focus on teaching new players the rules, and making sure everyone has a good time We will be exploring the lost mine of Phindelver, an introductory adventure that goes from levels 1 to 5.

How to prepare

You will need a computer and mic as well as the Discord application. Dice or dice rolling apps are recommended but not required.

What I provide

I will bring all necessary literature so the players will not need to if they do not want to or are unable. I will also provide background music and a dice rolling app on Discord.

Gameplay details

This game will be moderately paced, with some open world exploration and questing combined with several dungeon crawls. In the first few sessions we will focus on character building and introducing game mechanics to new players. Role playing will be encouraged but not enforced. We will be using theater of the mind, so the combat encounters will take place in our heads and not on a grid system. My only requirement is that players have a way to take notes and roll dice if possible. If not, I will provide a dice rolling bot on discord as well as a smart speaker on my end to roll for players that are without. All material will come from the Player's Handbook, The Dungeon Master's guide, and the Monster manual apart from the core adventure.

How will character creation work

Characters will be created in the first and possible second session. I will provide premade characters to anyone who needs one, but will also be able to walk players through the creation process if they prefer.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
