Intro to Call of Cthulhu: The Haunting

About the adventure

"Look, I've been trying to rent this house, but ever since that horrible tragedy, nobody seems to want to stay there! Maybe you could investigate the matter and set things straight?" In this beginner-friendly horror scenario, you are hired by a man named Mr. Knott to investigate a property he owns and has been trying to rent. He is sure that all these talks of "strange happenings" are complete nonsense and would appreciate you clearing any rumors of it being "haunted." This scenario takes place in 1920s Boston. How to prepare

Players will need Discord and a working microphone, as well as a Roll20 account. You do not need to bring your own dice as we will be using the Roll20 dice roller.

What I provide

I will bring my knowledge of the system and Roll20. As this is not an in-person game, there are no physical elements.

Gameplay details

This game has an Open-Door Policy: you can leave or take a break from the game for your own safety and well-being without being judged. In addition, we will be using a X-Card deck using the deck feature of roll20. How will character creation work

The first part of the session will involve creating characters for the scenario- I will guide you through character creation if needed. (If you have joined me for a Create a Character session before, you are welcome to use that character in this session!) We will be using Roll20's character sheets for the characters. If you would prefer to use a quick-start character rather than create your own, I will also have some options from which you may select.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
