About Weird Wanderings
Aspirational, cautionary, horrific, wondrous, sweet, funny, and tragic. Stories are a balm to sooth in hard times, a plan for growth, and a chance to reflect. A hobby nearly as old as humanity itself, sitting around fires and spinning yarn with good company. This is the tradition I seek to embody. Greetings seeker, thank you for seeing me. You may be asking yourself, "With so many options available on this lovely website, why should you decide to sit at my table? What sets this person apart?" To that I say I do not wish to be set apart. I want to sit with you, and find out the story your heart yearns to sing. I want to help explore something new, I would very much like to show you why I love collaborative storytelling. If you're new, I want to show you what this beautiful hobby has to offer, and if you're a veteran storyteller and already know? Then I want to see what we can make applying our skills together. I'm a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I'm fond of the many things that make everyone unique human beings, and I will strive to create a safe and fun environment to explore the stories we tell together. Finally, I'm more than happy to work with beginners to any system I'm familiar with to help you learn the game. For the more experienced player, I love the act of exploring oneself through characters, and I would be happy to create the space for said exploration. So wanderer, if you're curious, feel free to direct message me with any questions you might have, I am always glad to make new friends!

I became a GM because
There is something deeply personal about telling stories, the act of creativity lets us connect with parts of ourselves we cannot always access, and opens new roads to thinking in those who engage with it. GMing allows me to help facilitate this beautiful mind opening process, and that gives me joy.
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
GURPS 4th Edition: Can be used to make anything and be as Ruleslite, or rules heavy as one desires. Most Flexible system I've ever played. Call of Cthulhu: Easier to hop in and play than GURPS, but almost as robust. Powered by the Apocalypse family of systems: Great story flow, and easy to learn.
When I'm not running games I'm...
likely cleaning, moving, or doing some other manner of gig work during the day. By night I typically spend time with friends online, playing games, watching movies, acting as a player in other games, or doing research for my own. My other interests include podcasts, gaming, and philosophy.
How Weird Wanderings runs games
In a word, adaptable. I've run crunchy games with more focus on tactics, and games that were mostly mind's eye theater with occasional dice rolls to set the tone. I lean more towards roleplay and character focused stories, but will be happy to work with you to find a groove that works for everyone.

My favorite trope is...
Reformed/reforming antagonists. I enjoy seeing characters who've done wrong and understand the darkness, and find it in themselves to rise above and face their demons. Win or lose, these stories are often deeply human and resonate strongly with me.
My games focus on...
Player characters, the challenges they face, how they overcome them, or are overwhelmed in the process. Most of my games have a heavy focus on personalized storytelling focused on the player's individual interests, and I enjoy working with each player to bring things to life in their stories.
Rules are...
Useful guidelines. Lovely tools to help guide play and are very useful to setting expectations, but are flexible and malleable when desired by higher powers (The GM and players) I'm very open to homebrew and creative problem solving, and the rule of cool is probably my personal rule zero.
Weird Wanderings's ideal table
Relaxed and open ideally. TTRPGS are a passion of mine which I can chatter about endlessly, and I enjoy hearing the thoughts of others about systems, stories, and games just as much. So my ideal table is one which everyone is comfortable with one another, open for contributing ideas and working together to create stories which are more than the sum of their parts. Those who fit well are likely to be creative, playful, and collaborative types who enjoy "Yes and" style gameplay, working together to paint the world. Those who might fit less well are those who desire a strict adherence to the rules, or are seeking a more "Campaign world" driven experience. All of my games offer sliding scale pricing because I never want money to get in the way of a good story being told, Roleplay is a passion first and a side hustle second for me, and that's how I keep that particular fire alive within our capitalistic hellscape :)

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Bespoke storytelling, direct collaboration, and intentional communication.
I love it when a player
Surprises me. Adapting to the creative things which people come up with is one of the most exciting things about telling stories for me. I also really enjoy when a player really connects with their character, it makes the things which happen in the story all the more potent.
My table is not the place for...
Racism, sexism, ableism, or discrimination of any kind. We come from many backgrounds, struggles. We have much to teach and learn from each other if we put in the effort. We may explore these themes in the tales we tell, but all at the table must be respectful of one another always.
