About the adventure

To the people of Tahrik, Strahd is a fairy tale. A story told to children about heroes of old and their battles against the man-turned-monster. But one day, a strange manor appears near the small village of Delian and with it comes the mist. With fellow citizens going missing, your mentor has given you a mission. Enter the house, find your missing neighbors, and figure out what's causing this blasted mist! But not all is as it seems. There are secrets to this house, and soon, our heroes will learn that every fairy tale has an element of truth. In this Curse of Strahd Campaign, the players will start in the homebrew world of Tahrik, and enter the Death House module. From there, the players will enter the Curse of Strahd module, but things will be different than you might be used to! RK has changed the story slightly, using information and lore given by the module to create a larger story and develop more of Barovia, Strahd, and the powers that be.

How to prepare

Players will need a webcam and mic. Character sheets will be maintained via DnDBeyond, but integration will occur with Roll20 for any battlemaps. Players may use physical dice or digital dice at their own choice. Games will occur over Zoom, with the Discord being used for offline organization. Please make sure you have a Roll20 account, a Discord account, a D&D Beyond Account, and a microphone + webcam. A laptop camera and headphone mic is more than acceptable for this game. All players must abide by the safety tools in place. If there are any questions or issues, please direct them to myself.

Gameplay details

The players will be playing characters in the world of Tahrik (a homebrewed world). They will start out by entering Death House, and dealing with the horrors within, from which they will be brought to Barovia. The typical session will involve, roleplay, some minor puzzle solving, and possibly some combat. Curse of Strahd is a dark module and will have elements of horror, but we will be using safety tools to make sure that any horror is safe and managed. CW: Monsters, Vampires, Darkness, Temptation, Undead, Werewolves, Horror, Kidnapping, Some Body Horror The Safety Tools in use for this game are "Lines & Veils", "Stars & Wishes", "X,N,O Cards", and "Open-Door Policy". Session 0 will include a dedicated explanation of those safety tools for all players.

How will character creation work

Characters will start at level 3. They will be created using D&DBeyond. Characters should be new adventurers or heroes based in a small town called Delian within the world of Tahrik. Tahrik is a diverse world without the racism and colonialism that you might expect from your typical fantasy worlds. The GM will work with you to build your PC should you need them, but you are more than welcome to take any of the races or classes that you might have access via D&DBeyond (Besides Unearthed Arcana).

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
