Cynthia Williams Steps Down As Wizards Of The Coast President
A SEC filing found by Rascal News reveals that Cynthia Williams is resigning as president of WotC at the end of April. She served in the role for two years, overseeing some of the company’s most controversial actions. While many players were quick to celebrate on social media, there’s little evidence pointing to what Williams was directly responsible for or if her resignation was even a reaction to recent customer sentiment. WotC simply expressed gratitude and well wishes to Williams in a statement to Rascal, as well as announced the search for a new president.
Hasbro Taking Its Time On Baldur's Gate 4
You’d think that Baldur's Gate 4 would be a no-brainer given the massive success of BG3. However, developer Larian walked away from the franchise to work on its own projects. According to Eugene Evans, senior vice president of Digital Strategy and Licensing for Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, that means a careful approach is necessary. “...We're going to take our time and find the right partner, the right approach, and the right product that could represent the future of Baldur's Gate,” Evans said in an interview with PC Gamer. Pathfinder Kills A God To Kick Off New Adventure Paths And Classes
Paizo is shaking up the Pathfinder world by killing its god Gorum, the Lord in Iron. The fallout will include a new core book, several adventure paths, and two new classes. The classes are the animist and the exemplar, which are significant by being the first created under Pathfinder 2E’s revised rules outside of the OGL. In-game, Gorum’s death will set into play an event called Godsrain where mortals vie for the divine blood that flows from his end. One fascinating high-level adventure path tied to Godsrain will be the level 11-20 Curtain Call, where characters produce an opera based on their previous adventures.
Biggest D&D Game Ever Record Holder Returns For Bigger Event
Game store We Geek Together is bringing back “the biggest TTRPG event in history.” Last year, the store took over the Town Centre Mall in Provo, Utah to host a game with 1,227 players. This broke the Guinness World Record for largest D&D game ever played. This year We Geek Together is aiming for 3,000 players for its May 3-4 event called Dead Wars. This event will host both an in-person and online component where all players are working together to fight in one epic battle. More information on taking part can be found in this video.
That’s all for this week! Have fun in your games, and may your dice be kind.
