Ring in the golden anniversary of D&D with a series of special gaming events run by StartPlaying Dungeon Masters! Wizards of the Coast and StartPlaying have partnered to celebrate D&D's 50th anniversary by helping players find sessions featuring classic adventures throughout the year.

The fun begins on March 26 with Descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, a fresh adaptation of a Gary Gygax original set to appear in the upcoming Quests from the Infinite Staircase. StartPlaying DMs will be offering sessions of Descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth on the 26th using D&D Beyond Maps, Roll20, Foundry, and more. Check out our search page to find professional DMs running these special sessions.

D&D Beyond is offering a $10 referral credit to new users of StartPlaying. It’s also providing DMs with pregenerated 9th-level characters so anyone can jump right in. For those looking for something more challenging, this version of Descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth comes with the tournament-style rules of the original. Some DMs might offer the chance to compare results between player groups to determine who braved their dungeon the best.

In Descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth, the party takes on a former lair of legendary archmage Iggwilv the Witch Queen. A treasure trove of magic items awaits the adventures, but dastardly traps and deadly monsters stand in the way. D&D Beyond users will be able to claim the adventure for free starting March 26. StartPlaying DMs participating in the event will have it earlier, giving them time to craft a memorable adventure for players.

StartPlaying co-founder and COO Devon Chulick had this to say about the exciting collaboration: "We love the communities that are formed around the gaming table, and we're excited to work with Wizards of the Coast to continue our mission of building community through play!"
